CLAT Application Form 2025: The Consortium of NLUs closed the CLAT Registration Process 2025 on October 22, 2024. CLAT Application Correction Window 2025 was closed on October 25. CandidatesThe Consortium released the CLAT Notification 2025 on July 7, 2024. The notification carried all the important information regarding the CLAT Exam. Only candidates who will fill out the application form as well as pay the fee will be issued admit cards to appear in CLAT exam 2025. Q:   Is CLAT 2025 registration form out?

A:

No, the CLAT 2025 Application Form was released on July 15. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) began the CLAT 2025 Registration Process from July 15 and candidates could apply until October 22, 2024. CLAT 2025 Exam Date was December 1.Candidates must note that CLAT 2025 Application Form could be filled online only. Only those candidates who have filled CLAT Application Form 2025 successfully, were able to appear for the CLAT Exam.

Q:   Can I fill CLAT application form in phases?

A:
Yes, you can fill the CLAT application form in phases. Each step of the CLAT application form will provide a 'Save' option using which candidates can save the filled-in information. In case, candidates want to exit and complete the application form next time then they simply need to log in again and continue from where they left. The application process of CLAT will be complete once candidates pay the fee and submit the form. Moreover, candidates can login again and correct their details in the application form of CLAT as long as the window is open.

A:

The application fee for CLAT exam was different as per the category of a candidate. For General/OBC/PWD/PIO/OCI/NRI, the application fee was INR 4,000 and for SC/ST/BPL category, the application fee was INR 3,500. Extra charges of INR 500 were applicable if candidates wanted to obtain previous years' CLAT question papers from the exam authority. Apart from CLAT application fee and cost of question paper bundle, candidates had to pay any other charges.

Q:   When will the application form of CLAT, AILET and other major universities be out? Is there any website on which I can get all the details?

A:
The application forms for CLAT AILET and other law entrance exams for admission to top law universities/ colleges is generally released in January month of the academic year. However, now the application for CLAT and AILET is released around May or June, as these exams are to be conducted in December every year. The application forms for other law entrance exams like MHCET Law ULSAT TSLAWCET APLAWCET ISAT India, AMU B.A. LL.B. Are released between December to March, as the examinations are conducted from May to July. Top universities like BHU, AMU, DU LL.B. Allahabad University offering law courses including five-year integrated law course and three-year LL.B. Course are accepting CUET scores to shortlist candidates. Therefore, candidates have to fill CUET application forms, which are released generally in January or February every year on NTA website. Q:   What to do if I forget the password for CLAT Login?

A:
In case you forget the password for CLAT login, then you can recover it easily by clicking on 'Forgot Password' link at the bottom of the login window. For recovering the password or resetting the login account, the exam authority will ask your registered mobile number and email ID, and send an OTP on it. You need to enter this OTP to recover the account by clicking on 'Reset Account' button, and then create a new password for CLAT application login.

Q:   Is CLAT 2025 application form the same for all courses?

The application form was same for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Candidates could select your programme of study at the time of filling the application form. The first step of CLAT application process was to select the course of admission, and the application window/ dashboard showed two options - Undergraduate for 5-year LL.B. And Postgraduate for 1-year LL. M. course that candidates can opt for. CLAT application form was made available only for 5-year LL.B. And LL. The Consortium of NLUs opened the CLAT Application Correction Window 2025 to help candidates edit their CLAT 2025 Application Form before finally submitting it. Candidates could follow the steps to edit CLAT application 2025 as under:

  2. Login using mobile number and password
  3. Click on the Edit Application button
  4. Go to 'Category and Seat Reservation' for NLU preferences, as well as, Personal details tab for OBC category status, whether Non-Creamy Layer or Creamy Layer
  5. Make the required changes, Click on Next button
  6. Click on the declaration checkbox, and Save to submit the changes

A:

No, the CLAT Application Correction Window 2025 has been closed. The Consortium kept the CLAT Correction Window 2025 open until October 25, 2024. All those candidates who had applied for CLAT 2025 and wanted to make a correction to the already submitted form could make the required changes until the deadline.

Q:   Why it is important to fill CLAT 2025 Application Form carefully?

Q:   Will CLAT be held twice in 2025?

A:

In 2022, CLAT exam was held twice, I. e. on June 19 as CLAT 2022, and on December 18, 2022 as CLAT 2023. However, from 2024 onwards, CLAT exam is to be conducted once in a year only, as confirmed by the exam officials in the latest notification. Earlier, CLAT exam was conducted in May or June, but from 2024 onwards the entrance exam will be conducted in December (of preceding year to the admission year) itself for concluding admissions on time. Therefore, CLAT counselling process will be completed by May of each academic year.

CLAT 2025 seat intake

The 24 participating NLUs will accept only CLAT 2025 scores for admission to their UG and PG courses for the upcoming academic session. The program-wise seat intake is as follows.

  • 5-year LLB program - 3,213 seats
  • One-year LLM - 1,217 seats

Note: The above seat matrix doesn't include supernumerary, extra, NRI, and sponsored seats.

Q:   How many seats are there in CLAT 2025?

A:

At the moment, there are a total of 24 NLUs that are participating institutes of CLAT 2025. The seat intake for all the courses offered at NLUs has been revised as under:
For the five-year LL.B. - The integrated law programme is offered by all the 24 NLUs, with the seat intake standing at 3,213 seats. For the one-year LL. M. - The programme is offered by 21 NLUs, which have a combined intake of 1,217 seats. In 2021, total 4,009 seats were available, out of which 3,012 seats are available for UG courses and 997 seats are available for PG course admissions. Q:   How many candidates take CLAT exam every year?

A:

More than one lakh candidates from different cities across India appear for the CLAT exam every year. The exam authority has informed that Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024 registered a total increase of 24.5% in applications compared to last year (CLAT 2023). Specifically, the Consortium of National Law Universities received 34.7% more Undergraduate applications and 25.8% more Postgraduate applications this year as compared to last year (CLAT 2023). For CLAT 2022, 56,472 candidates appeared out of 60,895 registrations. In 2021, 62,106 candidates appeared for the CLAT exam.

There are a total of 24 NLUs that are participating institutes of CLAT 2025. 5-year LLB - The integrated law programme is offered by all the 24 NLUs, with the seat intake standing at 3,213 seats. The official website for CLAT registration details 2025 is consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered at National Law Universities (NLUs) can apply for CLAT 2025 on or before the last date. CLAT Registration Statistics

Around 60,000 candidates appeared in the CLAT 2025 exam. In 2024, 70,277 candidates registered for the exam out of which 62,106 appeared. In 2023, out of 75,183 registrations, 59,443 students appeared in the exam. Out of 59,443 appeared candidates, 53,226 appeared for UG, and 6,217 appeared for the PG exam. 

CLAT 2025 applications are for admission to the five-year integrated and one-year LLM courses offered by the 24 participating NLUs. These NLUs offer a combined intake of 2,644 seats for the integrated program, and 914 seats for the program.

Q:   For which courses CLAT Exam conducted?

A:

The full form of CLAT is Common Law Admission Test. CLAT is a national-level entrance exam that is conducted for admission to Undergraduate B.A. LL.B. BBA LL.B.Com LL.B.Sc. LL.B. And Postgraduate LL. M. courses offered by the participating National Law Universities. The entrance exam is held in pen-paper mode for two hours. Candidates were advised to check the CLAT 2025 eligibility criteria before filling out the CLAT 2025 Application Form. The CLAT eligibility 2025 for UG and PG courses was as under: 

UG CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Candidates appearing for CLAT UG 2025 could check the eligibility below: 

  • Candidates must secure the following minimum percentage of marks in their qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination):
  • Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories
  • Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
  • Candidates who may be appearing for their qualifying examination in March/ April, 2025 are also eligible to appear for the CLAT 2025 examination. Q:   What is the age limit for CLAT 2025?

A:

As per the official eligibility criteria of the CLAT 2025, there was no age-limit criteria for candidates to appear in CLAT UG 2025 or CLAT PG 2025 exam. However, it was mandatory for candidates to fulfill other basic educational requirements, to take part in the CLAT Exam 2025.

Candidates must pass Class 12 examination by April/May 2025 and submit the passing certificates at the time of admission.
To be eligible for the CLAT PG 2025, you must have a minimum percentage of 50 per cent in LLB or any other equivalent degree from a recognised university.

Q:   Can I give CLAT after Class 12th?

A:

Candidates who have completed class 12th or equivalent in any stream from a recognised board can appear for CLAT 2025 Exam. Candidates must note that in order to apply they should have scored minimum 45 percentage marks in Class 12th.This is only applicable for General/ OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories. Foreign nationals cannot appear for CLAT. There is no minimum age requirement to apply for the exam.

How to fill CLAT Registration Form 2025?

The registration process for CLAT 2025 has been closed. The registration window was same for both the UG and PG candidates. Candidates could select the program of study at the time of filling out the application form. Candidates could follow step-by step process mentioned below to fill in the CLAT 2025 Application Form:

Step 1 - Online Registration:

  • Click on the registration link - consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  • You will be redirected to a registration window
  • Click on the "Register" button
  • A registration form will open where you will have to enter registration details like name, mobile number, email id. Also, select and confirm a password for the candidate account.

Step 2: Filling CLAT Application Form 2025

To access the application form, candidates had to log in to the account using your phone number and password. Once you log in, you will see the following screen.    

Proceed to fill out the form.

  • Select the program of study: Candidates had to select the Under Graduate (UG) 5-Year LLB Course or Post Graduate (PG) 1-Year LLM Course. Then press the "Apply for CLAT 2025" button.
  • CLAT 2025 application form - Personal details:

In this section, candidates had to upload a photograph and their signature in jpeg/png format. Other details that have to be entered included the date of birth, mothers' and father's name, gender, nationality, All India Category under which admission is sought (SC/ST, OBC, or General). Reserved category, PwD, and BPL candidates need to upload the relevant certificate. Finally, mention the domicile state.

  • Enter Communication Details: In this section, candidates had to enter their present and permanent address. 
  • Education Details: Candidates had to select the qualifying exam from the drop-down menu, enter the name of the board (or university), appearing/appeared or passed, year and month of passing, and percentage. 
  • Enter Test Centre Preferences - In this section they had to select three exam centers for CLAT 2025 exam. Select Test Center Preference – 1 for the test center with the first preference. Use Test Center Preference – 3 for the least preferred exam center. The CLAT 2025 exam will be conducted in more than 80 CLAT test centers.

Candidates in this section could select categories individually for each NLU. Candidates who want to apply under additional categories could use this section. Candidates were advised to check CLAT Reservation Criteria 2025 and intake of seats reserved at all NLUs before filling CLAT application form. Candidates must note that except NLU Jodhpur, all other NLUs are offering domicile reservations. Candidates also had to upload a domicile certificate in PDF format, issued by a competent authority. How to fill CLAT Application Form 2025? Check detailed video

NLU Preference List 2025:

Candidates were not able to submit the application form for CLAT 2025 until they selected NLUs and courses in the order of their preferences. Candidates could only enter NLU preferences until the last date.  The NLU Preference window looked like this:

Step 3: Submission of the Application Form

Candidates had to ensure that the various sections of the CLAT application form were duly and correctly filled. Note that all the details will be checked at the time of counseling registration, and any mismatch can lead to disqualification. Once you are satisfied that the application is complete in all respects - 

  • Agree to the declaration form
  • Select the Third Party Communication Details Agreement and Give your consent
  • Submit the form.

Once you agree to the agreement, give your consent and submit the application form, the following page will appear.

Step 4: Pay CLAT 2025 Registration Fee

After submitting the application form, the candidate had to pay the application or exam fee, which was category-specific. Candidates could pay the application fee in online mode using debit card/credit card/net banking. The mode of application fee payment was online.

Candidates had to check the prescribed eligibility criteria before filling up the application form. Candidates could select their course i.e. 5-year LLB or one-year LLM programs while registering for the exam. To fill out the form, the candidate had to get registered, fill in personal, academic, and contact details, upload documents and pay the fee. CLAT exam fee 2025 was INR 4,000 for General and INR 3,500 for SC, ST, and BPL categories.

Q:   CLAT Application Form 2025 can be filled offline?

A:

There was no option to fill out the CLAT 2025 application form in offline mode. Also, the candidate does not have the option to take printout of the online application form, fill it, and submit it at the admission office. Instead, the entire application process has to be completed online. So, to fill out the form, go the CLAT 2025 admission portal, click on the application link, and complete the application process. Note that the application form will be hosted at the CLAT 2025 web portal, which will be launched once application form opens.

Q:   What is the last date to fill CLAT Application Form 2025?

Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered at National Law Universities (NLUs) must note that the CLAT 2025 Notification has been released. Along with the CLAT 2025 Official Notification, the Consortium has also released CLAT 2025 Important Dates too. CLAT Registration Process 2025 began on July 15, 2024. The last date to fill CLAT Application Form 2025 was October 22, 2024. CLAT 2025 registration fee was INR 4,000 for general category candidates and INR 3,500 for SC, ST and BPL candidates. In case, aspirant wish to get previous year question papers, they have to pay INR 500 while filling up the CLAT 2025 Application Form.

Q:   Will there be any correction window for CLAT application form?

A:

Yes, the Consortium of NLUs opens the CLAT application correction window 2025 for all registered candidates so they can cross-check and edit their form. Once the CLAT application correction window 2025 opens, candidates will be able to make changes in their preferred test cities, and other details. CLAT application correction window is a facility for candidates to modify their details and avoid rejection due to misinformation at the time of admission process. The option to edit applications was enabled from CLAT 2021 onwards so that candidates can to make changes in choice of test cities, their name, date of birth, preferred NLUs and reservation category, if required.

Q:   Can I apply for CLAT through online or offline mode?

A:
CLAT application forms are available only in online mode, as there is a single application that candidates need to fill for admission to participating colleges of CLAT Consortium. The entire process of CLAT application including fee payment is online only, candidates need to register for CLAT fill the application form with respect to academic qualification, personal details, reserved category, uploading of photograph and signature, selecting preferred test locations, choice of NLUs, and fee payment. The application form is to be submitted in online mode only, candidates can keep a downloaded copy of CLAT application form for admission formalities, but they need not send it to any NLUs or CLAT consortium via post/ email.
