The exam is primarily conducted for admissions to the NLUs in India, however, many private colleges and universities also accept CLAT scores 2025 for admission to law courses. Q: How many universities/colleges accept CLAT score?
Around the country, there are 60 public and private colleges, 22 NLUs, and 60 CLAT universities that accept CLAT results. The Consortium of NLUs and these CLAT Colleges have an agreement in place that allows the applicants to be accepted based just on their rank. Candidates who are looking forward to taking admission through CUET must note that in all the subjects, candidates will be evaluated on their reading skills, critical thinking and analytical ability. Further, check the detailed CLAT 2025 syllabus for all the sections of the exam as released by the Consortium.
Q: How many students pass the CLAT Exam?
Pass / fail concept is not applicable in CLAT because if you do not secure a rank to qualify for the 2600+ seats, you simply do not make it to an NLU. For most students being successful in CLAT means securing a seat in the top five National Law Schools in India, which has a total of less than five hundred seats. When you prepare for CLAT understand why you want to pursue it. Once you are sure of your goal, use all the help you can get (study materials, mocks, books, old question papers) and then put in hard work to get into the top 5 NLUs. Most of the colleges or universities that offer courses in law have their own entrance examinations. One of the most recognised examinations is CLAT which stands for the Common Law Entrance Test. The test score of CLAT is accepted by major universities as well as law colleges in India. There are multiple universities from where you can do 5-year LL.B.

The National Law University (NLU) admission prospects are slim in view of a CLAT rank of 7616 and an EWS rank of 640. Most of the NLU cut-off ranks tend to be exceptionally lower as compared to general category and EWS candidates, even in some of the most sought-after courses like BA LLB.

With 62.25 marks in the CLAT exam, your rank will likely vary depending on the difficulty level of the exam that year and the overall performance of other candidates. However, based on previous trends, a score of around 62.25 can typically place you in the range of 3000-5000 in the CLAT rankings.
