Q. Congratulations on your wonderful ATMA score! Was this your first ATMA attempt?
A: Thank you! Yes, this was my first attempt.
Q. Did you appear for other MBA exams such as CAT?
A. I did not appear for CAT, but, I did appear for MAT.
Q. Are you planning to appear for ATMA exam for the May session?
A. Yes, I’ll be appearing for ATMA and MAT both exams again.
Q. What was your preparation strategy?
A. I started my ATMA preparations one month back. I prepared for the exam through attempting ample number of mock tests and previous years’ question papers. The level of difficulty of ATMA questions was not very high but the major road-block was time management. Therefore, practicing time management can help you fetch a good score in the ATMA exam.
Q. How many mock tests did you attempt before the exam?
A. I did not get enough time to prepare for the exam, so I only attempted approximately 15-18 mock tests in one month of my preparation.
Q. What was your weak area(s) and what did you do to improve the same?
A. The Logical Reasoning section is my strong area so I didn't prepare extensively for it. As a commerce student, I did find the Quant section a little difficult, but with immense practice I was able to get hold of the section. The Verbal Skills section is based on interpretation. It depends on how you interpret the question and how the examiner does interprets it so it's a little tricky so score however with reference from right books and sufficient amount of practice it is possible to target a 99+ percentile.

Q: How did you deal with the stress of ATMA prep and exam?
A. Surely, the exams bring stress but since I appeared for the MAT exam also, I was somewhat prepared for ATMA exam. I attempted all the questions in the MAT exam and ended up with lower marks. For ATMA, I decided to attempt only those questions I was completely sure about.
Q. Which books or study material did you refer to for preparation?
A. I referred to High School English Grammar and Composition Key by Wren and Martin for the Verbal Skills section. For the other sections, I referred to previous years’ question papers, sample papers and mock tests.

Q. Did you face any issues with the IBT mode of examination? Did you have any exam day strategy?
A. I was not very familiar with the online mode of examination, and I would have preferred the CBT mode examination. There was a lag of three to four seconds when switching between questions which wasted a little time. So to prepare for the exam I attempted ample number of mock tests so that I was not uncomfortable with the exam pattern. I practiced approximately 20 mock tests. I also tried the official ATMA mock test which was very useful.

Q. Have you received any interview calls?
A. Yes, I have received a number of calls. But I am targeting the top institutes and I am planning to appear for the ATMA exam for May session too.
Q. Which MBA institutes are you targeting?
A. I am targeting institutes such as JBIMS and SIMSREE.
Q. Is it important to join a coaching institute for preparation?
A. Honestly, it is not absolutely necessary to join a coaching institute. But you can go for coaching institutes if you need guidance and find preparing for the exam very difficult.
Q. What are your plans after completing MBA?
A. I am looking forward to have a great learning experience which I can apply in industry and corporates.
Q. Any tips for the future ATMA aspirants?
A. I would say that they must take the ATMA exam seriously like any other MBA entrance exam. Preparing well and practicing mock tests and previous years’ question papers will get you through the exam.
