Q:   What if I don't meet the OJEE cutoff for my desired course or college?

A:

If you don't meet the OJEE cutoff for your desired course or college, it doesn't necessarily mean that you won't be able to secure admission. Here are a few possible options:

  1. Consider other colleges: If you don't meet the cutoff for your desired college, you can explore other colleges that accept OJEE scores. There may be other colleges that have lower cutoffs or that are a good fit for you.
  2. Improve your rank: If you don't meet the cutoff, you may want to consider reappearing for the exam or preparing again for the next year. You can also improve your rank by taking online courses or practicing with mock tests.
  3. Consider other programmes: If you don't meet the cutoff for your desired course, you may want to consider other programs that have lower cutoffs or that are a good fit for you.
  4. Seek admission through management quota: Some colleges offer admission through management quota, which means that they have a certain number of seats that are reserved for students who don't meet the regular cutoffs. You can check with the college administration to see if they offer admission through management quota.

It's important to note that meeting the cutoff is just one aspect of the admission process. Other factors, such as your academic record, work experience, and extracurricular activities, may also be considered by the admissions committee.

Q:   How can I get my OJEE scores retotaled?

A:

If in case, students find any discrepancy in their OJEE results, they can get it reviewed by requesting OJEE Cell. For OJEE result rechecking, students will need to pay INR 500 as a fee. Candidates need to pay the fee in the form of a Demand Draft, drawn in favour of OJEE. It needs to be drawn from any nationalised bank, payable at Bhubaneswar and should reach the above address (within seven calendar days) as mentioned above. OJEE scorecard will only mention overall scores. However, those candidates who wish to know their sectional scores can also request the exam conducting authority for the same.

Note: OJEE Committee will only review the OJEE results, they will not re-evaluate the answer sheets of candidates.

Q:   What to do after OJEE cutoffs are released?

A:

Once the OJEE cutoff is released, candidates should verify whether they meet the cutoff criteria for their preferred course and college. If they do, they become eligible for the counselling and seat allotment process.  Candidates should then closely monitor the official OJEE website for announcements regarding counselling schedules and registration. During counselling, they will need to fill in their choices of courses and colleges based on their preferences. It's advisable to list multiple choices to increase the chances of securing admission. Document verification is a crucial step during counselling, requiring candidates to present their OJEE scorecard, academic certificates, identity proof, and other relevant documents. Following the counselling process, candidates will receive a provisional seat allotment. They can either accept or reject the allocated seat. If accepted, they must pay the required admission fee or confirm the seat within a specified timeframe.

In some cases, there may be opportunities for upgradation or further rounds of counselling. Candidates should stay informed about these options and participate if desired.

Once a seat is confirmed, candidates should report to the allotted college, complete admission formalities, pay fees, and attend orientation and academic sessions as per the college's schedule. Staying organized, adhering to deadlines, and closely following official communications are essential throughout the admission process to ensure a successful transition into their chosen academic programme.

Q:   How is the OJEE cutoff determined?

A:

The OJEE cutoff is determined based on several factors, including the difficulty level of the exam, the total number of candidates qualified for each course, seat intake for each course and specialization, and reserved categories such as OBC, SC, ST, PWD, and so on. The OJEE Cell will release the cutoff lists after the results are announced, and the ranks will be decided based on the overall cutoff, not sectional cutoffs. The cutoff varies for each category, with lower cutoffs for candidates belonging to reserved categories. Keep in mind that clearing the OJEE cutoff does not guarantee admission to a particular institute, as final admission is granted based on OJEE scores and performance in Group Discussion.

Thumbs Up IconUpvote Thumbs Down Icon

Q:   How can I calculate OJEE scores?

A:

OJEE score is determined on the basis of correct answers marked by aspirants in the OJEE exam. For each correct answer, candidates are awarded four marks. For an incorrect answer, one mark is deducted from the candidates' total score. This means that for four incorrect answers, four marks are deducted from the total score. And for four correct answers, 16 marks will be added to the score. The raw score of candidates is scaled with reference to the total number of candidates appearing in the exam. Based on the OJEE score of candidates they will be offered admission to the management institutions compared to others who have appeared in the test.

Candidates should take the following formula into consideration when calculating the OJEE score:

100 (Number of candidates in the 'group' with aggregate less than the candidates)/Total number of candidates in the 'group'
