Q:   How many NEET preparation books are required to crack the test?

A:

There is no specific number of NEET preparation books that students should refer to in order to crack the exam. Rather than focusing on the quantity, they should focus on the quality of preparation. In terms of numbers, NEET aspirants should refer to NCERT books and additionally at least one section-wise NEET preparation book for each section, followed by a complete preparation guide.

Apart from referring to the popular books, you should also take ample mock tests and solve previous years' question papers.

Q:   Can I get admission in AIIMS Delhi without NEET?

A:

The answer will be both yes and no. Getting into AIIMS Delhi without NEET is possible since AIIMS Delhi offers a lot of courses apart from MBBS, such as BSc, MSc, PB BSc Nursing, MD, MS, DM and MCh, among various others. Admission to all these courses is either subject to an institute-specific entrance exam or INICET.

However, if the ultimate objective is to crack AIIMS New Delhi for MBBS, a student has to go through the NEET UG entrance exam followed by the counselling process. If the ranking and score obtained in the exam match with the minimum requirement of the institution, the student will get admission here for MBBS, otherwise not.

A: My Father is a Chartered Accountant and My Mother is a vastu shastra’s Specialist. I did my 10th and 12th both from CBSE Boards. I secured 97% in my CBSE 10th Board Exams and 96.8% in 12th Board Exams.

Q: When and how did you decide to pursue Medicine?

A: One of my prospective career aspirations is to become a neurosurgeon. I have always found the brain to be a fascinating organ, with all its complexities and intricacies and the way it helps the rest of the body parts coordinate with each other.Hence it inspired and motivated me to pursue medicine.

Q: What are the factors that led to your success in NEET 2023?

A: Factors that motivated me during my NEET preparation:

  • Maintain a well-balanced routine with adequate rest and exercise.
  • Break down study sessions into smaller, manageable tasks.
  • Stay focused on the end goal, reminding oneself of the passion for the medical field and the potential to make a difference.

Q: How important was coaching for you?

A: Sample papers and Mock Test provided by Aaksh BYJU’S Digital really helped me in my preparation journey.

Q:   How many marks are required in NEET to get AIIMS Delhi?

A:
If a candidate belongs to the General Category, he/she should aim for at least 700+, and in the case of a reserved category, a candidate should aim for at least 675+. This is with regard to marks. In case the candidate wishes to know the same percentile-wise, he/she must score above 99 percentile to secure admission to AIIMS Delhi. Until 2020, students with 650+ score were able to get admission to MBBS at AIIMS Delhi, but the competition has been rising every year.

Q:   Which are the best NEET preparation books for Physics, Chemistry and Biology?

A:
Some of the popular books for NEET preparation are as: For Biology section, the following books are widely referred to: Truemans Biology Vol. 1 & 2 Objective Biology by Dinesh Pradeep Publications Biology Prakash Objective Biology A C Dutta for Botany (Oxford Publication) GR Bathla Publications for Biology (Theory & Objective) For Physics following are the best books for NEET preparation: H C Verma for Physics NCERT Physics CBSE PMT by Anil Aggarwal (Set of 3 Volumes) NCERT- Physics Part 1 & 2 Objective Physics for Medical Entrances Examination (Volume 1 and Volume 2) For Chemistry refer to the books given below: Modern ABC of Chemistry for Class 11th & 12th (Vol. 1 & 2) Physical Chemistry by O P Tandon Arihant Organic Chemistry Dinesh Chemistry Concise Inorganic Chemistry by J. Q:   Which books are really good for the preparation of NEET other than NCERT?

A:
The NCERT books help you in clearing your doubts regarding the concepts. Conceptual clarity is really important both for NEET and JEE exams. Other than that, you can refer to Arihant and MTG books. They have a good approach in the practice exercises and are all to the level of NEET only. They can help you a lot. Then in these books, you can refer to the previous years' questions and so you can get an idea of the questions and the type of questions that are repeated. Practice more and try to solve many questions in time. That will help you to get good marks which will eventually lead you to a good college through the NEET exam. All the best!

Q:   Can I get AIIMS Delhi with 650 marks?

A:

Since you haven't mentioned your category, we would consider you to belong to the General Category. You should aim for at least 700+ to get AIIMS New Delhi. Looking at the last three years' cutoff, AIIMS Delhi NEET cutoff 2024 for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) closed at 47 while in 2023, it closed at 57 and 55 in 2022.

Q:   Which are the books to prepare for NEET?

A:
Among all the books of NEET in the world, first, go for the NCERT books. You must complete all the NCERT books first before moving to other reference books available in the market. After completing the NCERT books, you can go for the following books to boost up your practice and concepts: 1.Dinesh's Objective books 2.Trueman's Biology 3.MTG's Fingertips 4.HC Verma 5.R.D.Sharma All the best!

Q: What was your time management strategy for NEET preparation? Did you follow any study schedule or timetable?

A: I prioritized my tasks by allocating specific hours for NEET preparation alongside regular schoolwork. I created a study schedule that accounted for both, ensuring that I devote ample time to each area.

Q: Which was the most challenging subject in NEET and how did you manage it?

A: Initially I used to find physics tough, since for understanding the concepts, and to apply them in questions in a timely manner, a lot of practice is required. For physics I focused on the digital  modules of my Coaching, NCERT textbook, and on videos from YouTube for some of the more difficult chapters. Besides this I faced some difficulty in those chapters in biology which involve directly memorizing facts, like the plant and animal kingdom and mineral nutrition.

Q: What was your preparation strategy for NEET 2023?

A: I used to self-study for 7-8 hours daily for my NEET preparation. My preparation was very well supported by my school teachers and Aakash BYJU’S Digital faculties.

Q: What was your strategy to complete the entire NEET 2023 syllabus?

A: For the last 2 years, I was consistent in my studies, never missing any classes, and I attempted almost all the tests held in Aakash BYJU’S Digital. Besides, I used to practice tons of past year questions.

Q: Were there any moments when you felt low or demotivated? How did you cope with the stress?

A: Yes, there were such moments. Sometimes I would get a bit low marks in practice tests and this would dishearten me, but my mother was always there to support me. For coping with stress, I watched movies and sometimes played video games

Q: What are your hobbies and pastimes? How did you unwind during the rigorous preparation phase?

A: My favourite pastime involves reading novels, especially fantasy and sci-fi, but during the preparatory phase for NEET, I had to put these down in order to remain focussed on my studies. To unwind myself I watched movies and web-series and occasionally played video games, for around 20-30 minutes a day, with the rest spent in classes, in school or in studying by myself.

Q: What is your dream medical college and why? What is your dream specialisation?

A: My dream medical college, just like all the other 20 lakh students who attempted NEET, is AIIMS Delhi. One of my prospective career aspirations is to become a neurosurgeon.

Q: What is your suggestion for next year’s NEET aspirants?

A: I would suggest all the aspirants to practice maximum test series and mock tests. I would also recommend they consider the NCERT book for their preparation.
