Tripura NEET Cutoff 2024: Check Category wise Cut off Marks for MBBS and BDS

The Tripura NEET counselling 2024 process started on August 19, 2024. DME Tripura released the dates for Round 1, which concluded on September 5, 2024. The Tripura NEET 2024 counselling Round 2 was conducted from September 11 to October 5, 2024. The Tripura NEET 2024 counselling Round 3 was held from October 4 to October 23, 2024. The Round 4 or the Stray Vacancy round is being conducted from October 28 to November 5, 2024. The NEET 2024 result was declared on June 4, and the result of the retest was out on July 1. NTA released the re-revised NEET 2024 scorecards on July 26, 2024. The MCC NEET 2024 counselling for the 15 per cent AIQ seats will begin on August 14, 2024. DME Tripura released the schedule for Tripura NEET counselling 2024 on August 13, a day before the commencement of the national level counselling process. 

Tripura NEET counselling is conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Tripura. The state counselling authority for Tripura conducts the admission process for various medical and paramedical courses offered in the state under the 85 per cent State Quota seats. Candidates who qualify for the NEET exam are eligible to participate in this state counselling. 

The Tripura NEET counselling process is hosted by the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Tripura. The official website to refer for the Tripura NEET UG counselling is that of the DME Tripura. The URL or the link of the Tripura NEET counselling website is dme.tripura.gov.in. Therein, candidates will get the important notifications, documents, registration and login windows.

The official NEET 2024 cutoff was released by NTA along with the NEET 2024 result on June 4, 2024, 10 days ahead of the scheduled date. However, the revised NEET 2024 cutoff was released on July 26, 2024, along with the re-revised scorecard and merit list. The NEET cutoff refers to the minimum score a candidate has to obtain to qualify for the NEET counselling process. The NEET cutoff 2024 increased from that of last year as the number of test takers is higher. The minimum marks to be scored by General category candidates to qualify is 164. However, the category-wise cutoff percentiles have remained constant. 

NTA re-released the NEET cutoff for 2024 on July 26, 2024, which states that two marks is reduced for each category as compared to the original NEET 2024 cutoff released on June 4, on the day of the result. As compared to last year, there has been an increase in the NEET cutoff across categories. The following table brings the NEET 2024 cutoff.

The qualifying NEET 2024 cutoff marks for General category candidates is 162. Last year it was 137. As expected, the NEET 2024 cutoff for General category candidates is higher than last year. The reason is, the difficulty level of NEET was lower this year, whereas the competition level has become even higher, along with the increase in the number of seats.

As per the reservation criteria of the Tripura NEET counselling, there is 15 per cent and 30 per cent reservation for the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories. However, there is no reservation for the Other Backward Clsses (OBC) category in the Tripura NEET counselling process. 

Yes, candidates can participate in both the national level NEET counselling for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats and the 85 per cent State Quota seats. However, if a candidate has already joined an institute, then he or she will no longer be eligible to participate in other state/national level counselling. Moreover, they will also not be eligible to participate for the next round of NEET state counselling once they join an institute.

The Tripura NEET counselling document verification process is conducted offline. Candidates will have to visit the allotted institutes for document verification and admission fee payment. This will confirm the admission process. DME Tripura will specify the venue for the document verification or institute reporting process after the seat allotment result is declared for each round. They will either have to report to the allotted institutes, or have to visit the venue mentioned by the counselling authority for Tripura NEET counselling. 

Tripura NEET counselling is the gateway to admission for the following medical and paramedical courses:

• MBBS
• BDS 
• BHMS
• BAMS
• BASLP

During the counselling process, candidates will have to select the course and respective colleges for getting the preferred seat allotment.  

If a candidate has already taken admission to a medical college either through the All India NEET Counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) or through any other State Counselling for NEET, he/she will not be allowed in the Tripura NEET counselling. In fact, the candidate will not be eligible to participate in the further rounds of that particular state or national level counselling as well. This is done to ensure that a single candidate does not occupy multiple seats and all aspirants get a fair chance of admission.
