The NEET PG 2026 exam will be conducted on August 30. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will soon release the NEET PG 2026 application dates on its website - natboard.edu.in. The Board will soon release the exam information bulletin and notify all the important dates. The information bulletin will notify the application and application correction dates.

The NEET PG applications will be released online and the candidates will get around twenty days to fill it. The application correction facility will be available for three days only. The NEET PG City Intimation Slip will be released ten days before the exam date of the candidate. The Board will conduct the NEET PG 2026 exam online at the allotted exam centers across the nation.

NEET PG 2026 Application Dates

The NBE will soon notify the NEET PG 2026 application dates through the exam information bulletin. The candidates will be required to fill the registration form first to generate the User ID and password. The candidates will require an active mobile number and e-mail id for registration.
The User Id and password  will be required to login for NEET PG application filling. The previous year application form was released on April 17, 2025.

Q:   When will NEET PG 2026 Information Bulletin be released?

The National Examination Board in Medical Science will soon release the NEET PG 2026 information bulletin on its website. The exam will be conducted on August 30, 2026.

Q:   What is application fee for NEET PG 2026?
A: 

Application fee and other details is released by NBE. The fee remains the same as it was last year. In 2024, the application fee was reduced by INR 750 for each category. With reduced fee, candidates had to pay INR 3500 for general category while for SC/ST candidates had to pay INR 2500. Earlier candidates had to pay INR 4200 application fee for general category. It must be noted that paying exam fee is mandatory to submit NEET PG 2026 application form.

NEET PG 2026 Admit Card Dates

The candidates should note that the NBEMS will release the City Intimation Slip in the first week of August to inform the candidates about their city of examination. The NEET PG admit card will be released in the third week of August. It will inform about the exam centre. The candidates should note that they will be required to carry the admit card along with one photo identity card.

NBEMS notified the NEET PG 2026 date on January 22 through a public notice. The NEET PG 2026 dates are important because the candidates can plan their preparation accordingly. The NBEMS will conduct the NEET PG 2026 exam online as a CBT. The candidates will be required to follow all the exam day instructions given by the Board and mentioned in the information bulletin.

Q:   Which subject in NEET PG syllabus contains maximum and minimum weightage?
A: 

NBE doesn't release the weightage for NEET PG exam. However, from last few years record, it can be said that maximum weightage is given to clinical subjects. A good number of questions are asked from general medicine, general surgury and paediatrics. Lesser number of questions are asked from anatomy, physiology etc. Candidates must note weightage for NEET PG syllabus may vary. This is why, candidates are advised not to depend upon weightage and prepare all subjects of clinical, pre and para clinical well so that there is less scope of negative marking. 

Q:   Does NBE release analysis for NEET PG exam?
A: 

No. NBE doesn't release analysis for NEET PG. Several coaching institutes and other experts release NEET PG analysis based on memory-based questions asked from exam-taking candidates. The exam analysis helps candidates to know the tentative score in the exam. Aspirants look for exam analysis to get an idea about weightage from each subjects. 

 

Q:   How many attempts are allowed in NEET PG?
A: 

NBE conducting body has not specified any limit regarding number of attempts in NEET PG exam. At same time, there is no age limit for exam. Candidates can appear as many times as they want in their prusuit of postgraduate medical courses. Candidates are advised to check official information brochure, comprising eligibility criteria and other crucial details related to exam.

The NBEMS will release the NEET PG 2026 answer key within a week from the exam. The Board will release answer to all the answers under the candidate's login. They will be require to login with their User Id and password to download the NEET PG answer key.

Yes. Mark is deducted for each wrong answer in NEET PG. For each right answer, candidates get 4 marks and for each wrong answer, 1 mark is deducted. As there is provision of the negative marking in exam, students are advised to answer only those questions where they feel confidence of right answer.

Q:   What are the benefits of NEET PG answer key?
A: 

NEET PG answer key helps candidates to predict tentative score in the exam. Candidates do get an idea whether they will get high or low rank in the exam. If a candidate get high score in the answer key, he/she can shortlist top colleges/institutes for admission. If the answer key gets him low score, candidates can look for other alternatives. NEET PG 2026 Result Dates

The NBEMS will release the result within a fortnight from the exam. So, we can expected that the NEET PG result will be released tentatively by September 15, 2026. The Board notifies the minimum qualifying criteria in the form of percentile. The candidates can see below the category-wise minimum percentile required for NEET PG exam.

Q:   Where will NEET PG counselling be conducted?
A: 

The counselling of NEET PG is an online process. Thus, candidates need not to go anywhere for the counselling process. However, candidates do need to report to the institute allocated to them for confirmation of their admission. NEET PG 2025 qualified candidates will have to register on the official website, mcc. nic. in to participate in the counselling process. They also have to declare choice for college and course for seat allotment. After seat allotment, candidates will have to report to particular institute for document verification. 

Q:   What is the duration of NEET PG counselling?
A: 

The duration of NEET PG counselling depends on number of vacant seats after each round. Usually, the counselling process goes on for over two months time. Each round of NEET PG counselling takes around 15-20 days time starting from registration to reporting. Initial rounds takes a bit more time than last rounds. Candidates have to register online and declare choice for college and course for seat allotment. Registration can be done on the official website. A total of 4 rounds of counselling is held for seat allotment. Based on choice declared by candidates, available seats, NEET PG rank, reservation factor etc. seats are allotted to candidates.

Q:   What information is needed for NEET PG registration for seat allotment?

Candidates need to enter all those details which were submitted while submitting NEET PG application form. Some information can be filled from admit card issued before exam. Q:   How many candidates appear for NEET PG?
A: 

Around 2 Lakh candidates appear for NEET PG every year. The number varies every year. Around 2.40 lakh candidates had appeared in NEET PG 2025 exam. A total of 2,28,540 candidates appeared for the NEET PG 2024 exam. In NEET PG 2023, around 2,06,541 candidates appeared for the exam. NEET PG 2025 exam was held on August 3 and result was announced on August 19, 2025.

Q:   When did MCC conduct NEET PG 2025 counselling?
A: 

MCC announced revised dates and schedule for NEET PG 2025 counselling. Round-2 counselling started on December 5, 2025. Registration had to be done on the official website, mcc.nic.in. Choice had to be declared till December 14, 2025. Round-2 result was announced on December 16, 2025. Seats are allotted based on declared choices, availablity of seats, NEET PG rank, reservation factor etc. 

Q:   When did registration start for NEET PG 2025 stray round counselling?
A: 

MCC started registration for stray round NEET PG 2025 counselling online. Registration for stray round was accepted online till February 18, 2026. Choices for round-3 NEET PG counselling 2025 were declared on February 19, 2026.

Q:   How to download NEET PG scorecard?
A: 

Candidates will have to download NEET PG 2025 scorecard for 50% AIQ seats from the official website. They have to provide login details to download the scorecard. Only those qualify exam by scoring the minimum cut off could download individual scorecard. The scorecard contains details such as roll number of candidate, score, All India Rank, category rank, number of correct answers and incorrect onesetc. The scorecard is needed at various stages of admission process including seat allotment.

Q:   Is NEET PG compulsory after MBBS?
A: 

Yes. NEET PG is compulsory for those candidates who want to pursue postgraduate medical courses. Those who qualify the exam with the minimum cut off become eligible to participate in the counsleling for seat allotment. NEET PG or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation, is conducted for providing admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/ MS (Master of Surgery) and PG Diploma courses in medical colleges across the country.

Q:   Can I carry notepad and pen along with NEET PG admit card in examination hall?
A: 

No. Candidates can't carry prohibited items including notepad, pen, pencil etc. inside examination hall at NEET PG centre. Similarly, eatables, ornaments, electronic items are not allowed. Candidates are advised not to carry these items at centre. Check the list of prohibited items given below:

  • Stationery items like textual material (printed or written), notes, plastic pouch, calculator, pen, writing pad etc.
  • Any electronic device like mobile phone, Bluetooth, earphones, microphone etc.
  • Ornaments like bracelets, ring, earrings, nose-pin, chain/necklace, pendants etc.
  • Other items like wallet, goggles, handbags, belt, cap, gloves etc.
  • Eatable items like soft drinks, water bottles etc.
  •  Candidates will be provided with a water bottle at exam centre

 

Q:   What is the format for NEET PG exam?
A: 

Formet refers to exam pattern. NEET PG exam is held in computer-based mode. A total of 200 multiple choice questions is asked in exam. As per official brochure, exam duration is 3.5 hours. Candidates get 4 marks for right answer and -1 for wrong response. As there is a negative marking in NEET PG exam, students should attempt only those questions where they feel confidence of right answers.

Q:   Is e-Aadhaar card is allowed at NEET PG centre?
A: 

Yes. One can carry e Aadhaar card at NEET PG centre. But candidates need to ensure e Aadhaar card must have clear aadhaar number and photo. In case of blur image, it may be rejected. Candidates are advised to read all exam guidelines given on NEET PG admit card carefully to avoid any hassles at NEET PG centre.
