
NEET PG 2026 Result: The National Board Of Examinations In Medical Sciences will release the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-PG merit list within a month from the exam. How to check the NEET PG Result 2026?
The candidates should note that total marks of the candidates will be calculated based on their marks as per the final NEET PG answer key. NEET PG counselling result for round-2 was released on December 16, 2025. NBE released NEET PG answer key along with the question ID on August 29, 2025. The candidates will be able to check their result in the manner given below:

NEET PG Tie Breaking Criteria
When preparing the merit list, the authorities often come across two candidates with equal marks in the NEET PG result. To help determine the ranks of the candidates in such cases and efficiently complete the process, NBE has placed a tie-breaker protocol in place for NEET PG result.
- Candidates with more correct responses will be placed at a better merit position
- Those having a lesser number of negative responses will be preferred
- Candidates who are older will be placed at a better merit position
- Those who secure higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in all MBBS Professional Examinations will be placed at a better merit position

NEET PG Result Types
NBE releases two types of NEET PG result for providing admission to PG courses at medical colleges across the country. The medical colleges use scores of NEET PG for allocating different categories of seats to candidates. The two types of results of NEET PG have been explained below:
NEET PG result for 50% AIQ seats
This category of NEET PG results is for admission to 50 % All India Quota Seats. NBE releases the result in PDF format. The counselling for these seats is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee. Admission to these seats is provided on the basis of AIQ rank, marks obtained, choices filled, reservation criteria, and availability of seats. The cut off for admission to AIQ 50% seats is the same as the minimum qualifying percentile.
NEET PG result for State quota seats
This type of result is for admission to State quota seats. The respective State authorities conduct counselling for admission to the PG courses in the state quota category. No state is allowed to conduct any other exam for allocating MD/MS/PG diploma seats.
How Marks Calculated for NEET PG Result
NEET PG result will be prepared on the basis of the marking scheme. NEET PG question paper comprises 200 questions of 800 marks in the exam. The marking scheme for the calculation of the total score of the candidate is given below:

NEET PG Types of Merit Lists
The candidates can see below the types of NEET PG merit lists:
- All India 50% quota rank: This is an overall merit list and denotes the merit position of the candidate amongst all those who have appeared for the entrance test, irrespective of their category. The overall merit list will include all the names of all the candidates who have appeared for the examination.
- All India 50% quota category rank: This is a category-wise merit list and denotes the merit position of the candidate amongst all the candidates from only that category (OBC/SC/ST), as opted by the candidate. This list will only include the names of those candidates who had opted for reservations under the respective category.

NEET PG Cut off Score and Percentile
The National Board of Examinations In Medical Sciences will release the NEET PG 2026 Cutoff with the declaration of result. The Board will release the category-wise cutoff for the candidates. The candidates must score equal to or greater then their category cutoff to get selected for Counselling. The cut off percentile for NEET PG is different for candidates belonging to different categories. NEET PG cut off scores can be revised by the NBE, in consent with the Medical Council of India (MCI), if the number of qualified candidates is insufficient.

No. Though NEET result is announced by National Testing Agency (NTA) but it doesn't declare NTEET PG result. National Board of Examinations (NBE) declares the result for NEET PG. The result is uploaded online for candidates who appear for the exam. NEET PG result is released in PDF format comprising details such as roll number, marks scored, rank etc. Candidates who score the minimum cut off are declared qualified for the exam. The qualifying cut off is different for different category.

Those who score less than minimum cut off for that category do not qualify for the exam.
