CBSE Compartment Exam 2020: Students who failed in CBSE 10th and CBSE 12thexams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) are demanding cancellation of their compartment examinations in the view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While the CBSE Compartment Exam 2020 Date is not decided yet, the students are getting restless and staunchly opposing the exams. After the declaration of CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020, the Board clarified that compartment examinations will be held as soon as the situation is conducive and in consultation with the government. The Board announced the CBSE 12th Results 2020 on July 13 and CBSE 10th Results 2020 on July 15.
According to the results stats, many students failed in one subject by 2-4 marks. These students are now urging the board to cancel the compartment exams and award them grace marks, clearing their way for admissions in colleges.
Meanwhile, a PIL is also filed before the Supreme Court against the compartment examinations. Advocate Shakti Pandey while talking to the media said, βMy prayer before the apex court seeks to either cancel exams or provisionally pass students so that they can apply for further studies, and conduct the exam later when the pandemic is over.β He further added, "If the examinations are conducted during the pandemic, students' lives will be at risk, and if exams are postponed then one year of the students will get wasted.β According to the reports, the apex court is expected to hear the matter today, i.e. July 31, 2020.
A CBSE Student talking about the issues they would face during college admission due to compartment exam said, "Because of the compartment in one subject, we are unable to take admission into colleges. If they conduct exams in September, our whole year will get wasted because all the private college admissions are ending in August itself, and will begin classes from September. Some universities have already started the counseling process and we are not able to get any seats. CBSE should cancel compartment exams and declare results on the basis of best of 3 subjects.β
