IIT Kharagpur Admission 2021 begins for LLB, LLM programme

Candidates are required to submit the application online at https://gateoffice.iitkgp.ac.in/rgsoipl/. The last date to submit the application is March 20, 2021.

IIT Kharagpur Admissions 2021: The Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur commenced the admission application process LLB with specialization in Intellectual Property (IP) Rights and LLM in different specialisations. LLB is a 3-year (6 semester) full-time residential course and LLM is 2-year (4 semester) course. Candidates interested in IIT Kharagpur Admission 2021 are advised to go through the eligibility criteria before applying.

IIT Kharagpur Admissions 2021: Eligibility Criteria for LLB/LLM Programme

In order to take admission to LLB Programme, the applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine/equivalent or Master’s Degree in Science/ Pharmacy/equivalent or MBA Degree with any of the above. However, For LLM admission, the applicant must have (i) 3 years Bachelor of Laws LLB/BL along with a Bachelor’s Degree of not less than 3 years in Humanities/ Science/ Commerce or equivalent, or (ii) 5 years Bachelor of Laws LLB/BL program.

Selection Process

A Computer Based Test followed by interview with a weightage of 70% and 30% respectively will be conducted as a part of the selection process. Candidates must note that the institute will conduct the Computer Based Test for LLB and LLM on May 9, 2021, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. Those having LLB (Hons.) in Intellectual Property Law from the IIT Kharagpur with a CGPA of 8.5 or above are eligible for admission to LLM without appearing in the All India Common Entrance Examination (CET).

The written exam for LLB will consist of questions from English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude. LLM written paper will only contain questions on law based on the BCI-approved LLB syllabus. No negative marking will be there in both the examinations.

Applications will be accepted only after the deposition of requisite application Fees of Rs 3,000/- for General/EWS/OBC Male/Transgender candidates and Rs 1,500/- for all Female or SC/ST/PwD candidates.
