IIT Kharagpur's Placement Drive Starts Strong with Over 700 Offers, 19 Global Opportunities

During day 1 of the placement drive at IIT Kharagpur, students clinched more than 19 international offers. Six of them received offers surpassing Rs. 1 crore in the profiles of software, analytics, finance-banking, consulting and core engineering. Check details here 

IIT Kharagpur Placement 2023-24: On day 1 of the placement session, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur secured over 700 placement offers, including Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). Not only domestic but the students acquired more than 19 international offers, and some of them received compensation exceeding Rs 1 crore in CTC. 

More than 61 companies offered a range of positions to the students, predominantly in software, analytics, finance banking, consulting, and core engineering. Professor VK Tewari, IIT Kharagpur director, said "IIT Kharagpur stands tall with more than 700 offers on the first day of the placement drive, even though the current placement season is slow."

The pre-placement offers have been from Apple, Databricks, Arthur D Little, EXL Services, Da Vinci, Capital One, DE Shaw, Glean, Google, Graviton, Palo Alto, Microsoft, McKinsey, Quantbox, Square point, TSM, and various others.

As per an IIT Kharagpur spokesperson, companies are conducting interviews in a hybrid format, with a significant number opting for both physical and virtual participation. The Career Development Centre (CDC) is hosting the "Academia Industry Conclave (AIC) 2023" for the first time this year to bridge the gap between the lean period of the market and upholding the legacy of the institute. 

The IITs around the country have commenced their placement sessions. IIT Delhi has secured approximately 480 full-time job offers, while IIT Guwahati received 164 offers from 59 companies on the inaugural day of its placement drive.
