For obtaining MTech degree, candidates must earn a minimum of 64 credits over a duration of 24 to 48 months.

NIT-T MTech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

National Institute of Technology - Tiruchi (NIT-T) is all set to offer MTech (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science). The decision to make the course available in online mode has been taken for the convenience of working professionals. Terming the MTech programme as unique and first by a NIT in the country, the Director of NIT-T G Aghila explained that the online MTech programme will be jointly offered by the departments of Computer Applications, Computer Science and Engineering, and Management Studies. The M.Tech. Programme is aligned with National Education Policy 2020, and has multiple entry and exit provisions, according to the Hindu.

Candidates to get 16 credits

The candidate enrolled for the programme will be issued a Certification in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science by earning 16 credits over a six-month duration. Candidates who will choose to exit after earning 13 credits over a duration of 12 to 24 months will receive Advanced PG Diploma in AI and DS.

Minimum 64 credits for MTech degree

Candidates willing to enter the course must have certifications in AI and DS.  For obtaining MTech degree, candidates must earn a minimum of 64 credits over a duration of 24 to 48 months. Eligibility is Advanced PG Diploma in the subject. Three project works in as many phases, blended learning mode, and sessions by world-class professors are among other highlights.

The MTech rogramme is for candidates with any BE or BTech or MSc (any equivalent of Computer Science degree) or MCA degree from a recognised institution.

Classes after working hours

The technology institute will conduct classes for MTech (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) online after working hours on all weekdays including Saturday. The Super Computing facility in the campus stands the NIT-T in good stead to offer the new MTech programme, PJA Alphonse, Professor and Head, Department of Computer Applications, said.
