Revise UGC NET result 2021: Candidates urge the NTA to revise UGC NET result of December 2020 and June 2021 merged cycles by increasing the number of qualified candidates from 6% to 12%.

The UGC NET result 2021 for the merged December 2020 and June 2021 cycles was declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on February 19, 2022. A total of 52,857 candidates have been declared qualified in combined cycles of UGC NET December 2020 and June 2021, which is, 6 per cent of the total candidates who appeared in both papers and obtained qualifying marks in aggregate.

On March 1, 2022, the NTA released the UGC NET 2021 National Fellowship result for Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority Students (MANF), National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes (NFOBC) and National Fellowship for Scheduled Caste (NFSC). The UGC NET National Fellowship lists have been released based on the UGC NET result 2021 for December 2020 and June 2021 merged cycles.

However, soon after the result announcement, candidates turned to Twitter, urging the NTA to revise the UGC NET result 2021 by increasing the number of qualified candidates from 6 per cent to 12 per cent.

Social media platform, Twitter has been flooded with tweets of candidates demanding the revision of the UGC NET results through hashtags such as #UGCNET, #Revise_NTANET_Results, #UGCNETResult, etc. In their defence, candidates have cited that they want 12 per cent selection under the UGC NET 2021 as the exam was conducted for two cycles – December 2020 and June 2021. UGC NET Result Criteria

As per the University Grants Commission (UGC) policy, a total of 6 per cent of those candidates who appear in both the UGC NET papers and obtain the minimum qualifying marks in aggregate are declared qualified in the exam.

Based on the result preparation criteria, the NTA named over 52,000 candidates as UGC NET 2021-22 qualified. Have a look at the result statistics below:
