Q:   Is there any negative marking in the CTET exam?

A:

No, there is no negative marking in the CTET examination. Candidates are awarded one mark for every correct answer in the exam and there is no deduction for wrong answers or unattempted questions. The reason behind the 'no negative marking' policy is that the CTET is an eligibility exam and not a recruitment exam. The CTET exam is conducted in two levels- Paper 1 is for candidates interested in teaching classes 1 to 5, and Paper 2 is for candidates interested in teaching classes 6 to 8. Both the papers consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) wherein each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking in the exam, which implies that candidates are not penalized for choosing the wrong option as their answer. It is advisable that candidates should focus on attempting as many questions as they can in the CTET exam to achieve a high score. It is important that candidates must avoid guessing and attempt questions with high accuracy.

In addition to the educational qualifications, you must also meet other eligibility criteria specified by the CBSE, such as age limit, nationality, and teaching experience (if any). You can check the official CTET website for more information on the eligibility criteria and the application process. It is important to note that while passing the CTET exam can increase your chances of being considered for teaching jobs in schools across India, it is not a guarantee of employment. The final decision to hire teachers is typically made by individual schools or education departments.
