There is no time gap between the UGC NET Paper 1 and Paper 2 exam. The UGC NET exam is conducted in two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is common for all candidates and consists of 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 2 marks each. It tests the candidate's teaching and research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. Paper 2 consists of questions based on the subject chosen by the candidate and consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 2 marks each. The time duration of the UGC NET exam is of 3 hours and there not gaps between these papers. The candidates have to take the exam in one go. However, there is no time limit for completing Paper 1 or Paper 2 exam. 

According to him, he started with library study sessions from 8 AM to 12 PM, then joined Adda247 classes from 12 PM to 3 PM. Then, three hours of self-study from 4 PM to 7 PM, followed by evening revision till 10 PM to reinforce his learning.

NCERT books can be beneficial for the aspirants in the initial days of preparation, especially for paper 1. However, NCERT will not cover all the topics in detail. Sometimes UGC NET exam covers a wide range from all topics and may the NCERT book will not cover the topics in depth. Therefore, the candidates are advised to go through the detailed books and other study materials. Additionally solving previous years' question papers are taking mock tests can also be helpful in preparing for the UGC NET exam.

The UGC NET June re-exam was held on August 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, and September 2, 3, 4, and 5, 2024. Out of 11,21,225 registered candidates, 6,84,224 appeared for the exam. A total of 4,970 candidates qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), 53,694 qualified for Assistant Professor positions, and 1,12,070 qualified solely for PhD admissions.

 In the UGC NET exam, the 99 percentile refers to the top 1 per cent of candidates who have appeared for the exam. In other words, if a candidate has scored in the 99th percentile, it means that they have performed better than 99 per cent of the candidates who appeared for the exam. The percentile score is a measure of how well a candidate has performed relative to other candidates who have taken the exam. It is calculated by comparing the candidate's score with the scores of all the candidates who have appeared for the exam.

Reservation Policy of the Government of India is applicable to UGC-NET. As per this, in the Central Universities and Institutions which are deemed to be Universities, the reservation of seats shall be as follows:

• 15% of the seats for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates.
• 7.5% of seats Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.
• 27% of the seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) candidates as per the Central List
• 10% of the seats for General-Economically Weaker Sections (General- EWS) candidates.
• 5% of the seats in the above mentioned categories for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) with 40% or more disability
