CMC Vellore Post-Basic 2021 also known as the Christian Medical College Vellore for Post-Basic diploma and degree programmes 2021 is a State level entrance exam. The entrance test facilitates admissions into the two-year Post-Basic Nursing degree and one-year diploma programme. The application forms for the CMC Vellore Post-Basic Nursing 2021 was available on the official website of Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. The conducting body will start accepting the application forms from the last week of May 2021 (tentatively) and as per the recent notification, they will accept the same till July 31, 2021 (tentatively).

About CMC Vellore Post-Basic Nursing 2021

CMC Vellore Post-Basic Nursing 2021 is a State level entrance test to facilitate admissions in the Diploma level programme in Nursing. The Degree and  Diploma in Post-Basic programme includes a 3-year course and one year of training as a junior staff nurse. The student intake is 100 per year. Out of the 100 seats, Nine seats (7 for Female and 2 for Male) are for the open category and 91 seats are reserved for the Minority Network category & CMC Vellore Staff Quota (83 for Female and 8 for Male). The exam is conducted Board of Nursing Education of the Nurses’ League, Christian Medical Association of India (South India Branch). The Diploma is awarded by the BNESIB, NL CMAI and is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council

Who is Eligible for CMC Vellore Post-Basic Nursing 2021?

  • The candidate should have passed class 12 or an equivalent examination recognized by the University/10 +1 in or before the year 1986.
  • The candidate should pass a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or an alternate course
  • The candidate should have a permanent registration certificate with the State Registration Council for Nursing and Midwifery/alternate course approved by Indian Nursing Council (INC) for a similar duration in lieu of Midwifery, in any one of the following areas:
  • OT Techniques
  • Ophthalmic Nursing
  • Leprosy Nursing
  • TB Nursing
  • Psychiatric Nursing
  • Neurological and Neuro Surgical Nursing
  • Community Health Nursing
  • Cancer Nursing
  • Orthopedic Nursing
  • A Certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer.

For Post Basic Diploma

  • Candidates should have passed the qualification of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or alternate course/BSc Nursing/BSc (Hons.) in Nursing/Post Basic BSc Nursing.
  • Permanent registration certificate from the State Nursing Council for Nursing and Midwifery or alternate course (applicable to male candidates)
  • Minimum one year of work experience as of September 1 of the said year in any clinical area in the hospital or in the community
  • A Certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer

No. There is no possibility of getting admission into CMC Vellore without clearing the NEET Entrance Exam. Only the candidates clearing the college cut off which is often very high (660 marks) can secure admission in CMC Vellore.
