Q:   What is the difference between UGC NET city slip and admit card?

A:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the advance city intimation slip before the release of the UGC NET admit card on the offcial websit. As the UGC NET exam is carried out pan India and sometimes the UGC NET centre is allotted far away from the candidate's residential address. Therefore by releasing the UGC NET city slip,   the NTA gives chance to make necessary arrangements like travelling, accomodation etc.

On the other hand, the UGC NET admit card is a hall ticket for the candidates who are going to appear in the UGC NET exam. The admit card comprises the exam cente address, shift timing. The admit card is released a few days before the exam day.  The candidates are not allowed to the exam hall if they don't have the UGC NET admit card whereas the city slip is not required for the UGC NET exam.

Q:   In case I forget to carry my UGC NET admit card to the exam centre, can I show the digital copy?

A:
No, you cannot use a digital copyof your UGC NET admit card in place of the original at the examcentre. The UGC NET admit card is a required document that acts as confirmation of your eligibility and permits you to sit for the exam. You will not be permitted to enter the exam centre or take the examif you do not have your original admission card with you. As a result, it is strongly advised that you keep the original UGC NET admit card safe and secure and bring it with you to the test centre. Furthermore, you should bring a valid picture ID evidence, such as an Aadhaar Card, Pan Card, Voter ID Card, or Passport, since this will be required for verification. If you have misplaced your UGC NET admit card, you can obtain a duplicate copy from the National Testing Agency's NTA official website by entering in with your registration number and password. However, it is always a good idea to keep the original admission card secure in order to avoid any last-minute problems or delays.

Q:   Who releases the UGC NET admit card?

A:
The UGC NET admit card is released by the National Testing Agency on behalf of the University Grant Commission (UGC). NTA is also the exam conducting authority of the UGC NET exam. Earlier, the UGC NET admit card was released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). After the formation of NTA in 2019 all the rights to conduct the UGC NET exam were taken from CBSE and passed to NTA. Now NTA is responsible for all the decisions in conducting the UGC NET exam. The UGC NET June cycle 2023 will also be conducted by the NTA on behalf of UGC

Q:   Is Adhaar Card mandatory to apply for UGC NET exam?

A:
No, the Aadhaar card number is not mandatory for applying for the UGC NET exam. The National Testing Agency NTA which conducts the UGC NET exam, accepts various other identity proofs such as passport number, driving license number, PAN card number, voter ID card number, and others for the purpose of identification. However, it is important to note that Aadhaar card is one of the acceptable identity proofs, and if you choose to provide Aadhaar card as your identity proof, then you must ensure that the details provided in the application form match with the details in your Aadhaar card. It is advisable to check the official notification for the exam to know the list of acceptable identity proofs and the guidelines for providing the same while filling the application form.
