CDS 2 2022 Paper Analysis for English, Maths & GK

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has conducted CDS 2 2022 exam to select eligible candidates for admission to the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Air Force Academy (AFA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA). CDS 1 2022 English paper was conducted from 9:00 am to 11:00 am while the General Knowledge exam was conducted from 12:00 pm to 2 pm. The Maths paper was conducted from 3 pm to 5 pm.

The English and GK papers of CDS 2 2022 were common for IMA, INA, AFA and OTA. Whereas, candidates for IMA, INA, AFA were required to attempt one more paper, i.e. Maths. According to the feedback shared by students on the English and GK papers, the overall difficulty levels of both these papers remained moderate to difficult. GK questions were asked from international events. There was a change in the exam pattern for English, last year there were 10 questions each for synonyms and anytonyms. However, this year, there were 5 questions from synonyms and no questions were asked from idioms and antonyms. Word meanings were introduced. The Maths paper of CDS 2 2022 was easy compared to last year. Maximum questions were asked from Trigonometry, Geometry and Mensuration.

CDS 2 2022 Paper Analysis for English and General Knowledge

Shiksha visited one of the CDS exam centres to gather their feedback regarding the difficulty level of the English and General Knowledge sections. Check below the reviews shared by the students.

Deeraj Chauhan, "The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate to difficult. In GK, maximum questions were asked from current affairs and Geography. In Current Affairs mostly questions were asked from international events."

Aman Kumar said, "The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. Mostly questions were asked from current affairs. There were also questions from History, Geography, etc. In English, there were questions on Comprehension. There were no questions from idioms."

Saurav said, "The English paper was easy while I found the GK paper to be tough. In GK, mostly questions were asked from Polity, Current Affairs and Economics. Current affairs questions were based on recent events that took place in 2021 and 2022."

Sumit said, "The English paper was lengthy as well as time consuming and the GK paper was moderate. Current Affairs questions were based on the latest events. Maximum questions were asked from Biology and History."

CDS 2 2022 Paper Analysis for Mathematics

The Mathematics paper carried a total of 100 questions. The duration of the exam was two hours. The total marks allotted to this paper were 100. The standard of questions in the Mathematics paper was easy compared to last year. Check below the feedback shared by students for the Maths paper.

Dibya Prakash said, "The paper was good and easy. There were few tough questions too. Compared to last year, the paper was easy. In Maths, questions were asked from Mensuration, Trigonometry, etc.
Atul Chaudhury said, "The Maths paper was quite difficult. The Trigonometry questions were difficult. Maximum weightage in the Maths paper was given to Trigonometry."
Tanmoy said, "The Maths paper was moderate. Maximum questions were asked from Triangle, Trigonometry, Basic Algebra."
Ojhas said, "The Maths paper was good but lengthy. Maximum questions were asked from Trigonometry and Algebra. Compared to last year, the paper was moderate."

CDS 1 2025 application form correction window was closed. The authority extended the last date to apply for the CDS 1 2025. The last date to apply for CDS 1 2025 was January 1, 2025.

Your sister can surely give the CDS exam. Since she is class 12 and studying Biology, she needs to complete her graduation first, as CDS exam requires candidates to be a graduate from any recognised university.
