IIT Madras, the exam-conducting authority of IIT JAM 2024, will release JAM 2024 admit card on January 8, 2024, as mentioned in the time- line specified by them earlier. Candidates who have successfully submitted the IIT JAM 2024 online application form will be able download their admit card by visiting the official website, i.e., jam.iitm.ac.in. IIT JAM 2024 is scheduled to be conducted on February 11, 2024 at exam centres across the nation. IIT JAM 2024 Admit Card Releasing January 8, 2024

IIT JAM 2024 hall ticket will be releasing by IIT Madras on the coming Sunday, January 8, 2024 at the official website of IIT JAM 2024, i.e., jam.iitm.ac.in. Candidates who had earlier successfully filled out the JAM 2024 online registration form will be able to download their IIT JAM admit card by entering their enrollment ID or email ID and password in the JOAPS portal. Candidates must note that they will not receive their JAM admit card 2023 via post or courier. The IIT JAM 2024 admit card is a mandatory document that must be carried to the exam centre, and preserved till the admission process is complete. The JAM admit card will be released online on the official website and candidates will have to log in and download it in PDF format. The IIT JAMadmit card 2024 will act as the hall ticket, and is a mandatory document to be carried to the CUET PG 2024 Exam Centres.

From the previous year trends, it has been observed that the exam officials have the tendency to announce or release the exam events one or two days in advance. Therefore candidates are advised to regularly visit the IIT AJM 2024 official website.  IIT JAM 2024 exam will be conducted at the various JAM 2024 exam centres across the nation on February 11, 2024. IIT JAM 2024 exam pattern has been announced by IIT Madras along with the exam notification. The exam will be held online as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in two slots. The exam pattern has been composed in such a way that the examination will have objective types of questions. Test Papers will have three objective type of questions i.e., Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions.

Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, to get into IIT Madras, students must score between 159 and, 9912 for the General AII India category. In addition to that, For getting into BTech Mechanical Engineering, you must have a rank upto 2302. Also, Mechanical Engineering is one of the most competitive BTech specialisations at IIT Madras. So, considering the round 1 cutoff, if you are seeking admission to Indian Institute of Technology Madras, you must secure a maximum rank upto 9912.

Q:   Who is eligible for M.Tech in IIT Madras?

A:

For admission to IIT Madras, candidates must pass Class 12 and graduation before applying for the course. As per the minimum eligibility requirements for the course, candidates need a BE/BTech/BArch degree or a master's in Science/Arts with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST/PwD). Qualifications from exams by recognised professional societies are also accepted. Further, candidates will be selected based on a valid GATE score.

Apart from this, candidates who graduated from IITs with BTech degree and having CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10) and above are eligible to apply for direct admission without GATE score. In addition, it is also crucial that the applicant hold the relevant documents as a proof of eligibility that has to be submitted at the time of registration and documents verification after gettting admission.

Q:   Can I do M.Tech in IIT Madras without GATE?

A:

MTech admission at IIT Madras is primarily based on GATE scores, followed by COAP counselling. However, as per the basic eligibility criteria mentioned on the official website of IIT Madras, getting admission at the institute without qualifying for the GATE entrance exam is possible. For this, candidates must have a BTech degree from one of the IITs, with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10). Such candidates can directly apply for MTech admission through the official IIT Madras website. These applications are then reviewed by the respective departments before taking the final admission decision.

Q:   How much GATE score is required for IIT Madras?

A:

Candidates seeking for admission to M.Tech at IIT Madras, candidates must pass graduation with minimum 60% aggregate as the minimum eligibility criteria for General category candidtaes.

In addition to this, candidates must also qualify GATE exam with a valid score. The cutoff may fluctuate every year, as it depends upon multiple factors. As per witnessing the last three years' closing cutoff for M.Tech course at IIT Madras, the highest closing ranks have been between 500 to 800 made for all top specialisations.

Certainly, IIT Madras accepts CAT results for MBA programme admissions. Specifically, CAT is the sole entrance exam considered for admission to IIT Madras' MBA program. Candidates are evaluated based on their CAT scores as a screening criterion, after which they are shortlisted for the subsequent selection process comprising a group exercise and an in-person interview. The minimum CAT score necessary for admission to the MBA programme at IIT Madras typically falls within the 90th percentile range. However, this percentile requirement varies annually, influenced by factors such as the number of applicants and overall CAT exam performance.

Q:   What is eligibility for BSc from IIT Madras?

A:

Candidates seeking admission to the BSc programme offered at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras are required to meet the IIT Madras BSc eligibility criteria. Candidates who have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 75% aggregate from a recognised Board can apply for admission to the BSc programme.

Q:   Can I join a B.Sc course at IIT Madras without giving JEE?

A:

IIT Madras BSc admission is entrance-based as the institute primarily accepts the rank and scores of the JEE Main examination for admission to its full-time BSc programme. However, if candidates wish to apply for the integrated BS plus MS programme, then they can apply for admission through the scores of the IISER Aptitude Test. Therefore, you can join the BSc course at IIT Madras without giving the JEE.
