JAM 2025 Eligibility Criteria
IIT JAM 2025 exam will be conducted on February 2, 2025 to provide admissions to MSc degree programmes for around 3000 seats in postgraduate programmes at 21 IITs for the academic year 2025-26. JAM 2025 application process started on September 3, 2024 on the official website. Q: Can I do M.Tech in IIT Madras without GATE?
Yes, candidates can get admission to MTech course at IIT Madras without GATE scores. As per the basic eligibility criteria mentioned on the official website of IIT Madras, it is not mandatory to qualify for GATE entrance exam. Candidates with a BTech degree from an IIT, with a CGPA of 8.0 (on a scale of 10) and above can apply directly for admission to MTech programme.
Hence, it is possible to pursue MTech at IIT Madras without a valid GATE score. Such candidates are required to apply on the official IIT Madras website. These applications are then reviewed by the respective departments before taking the final admission decision.
Q: Can I join IIT Hyderabad without JEE?
It's not possible to get admission to the BTech programme without JEE. The primary method for securing admission to IIT Hyderabad's BTech programme is by taking the Joint Entrance Examination, which is a national-level entrance exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology. JEE is a mandatory requirement for most undergraduate engineering programmes at IITs, including IIT Hyderabad. Regarding the IIT JAM 2025 eligibility criteria, IIT Madras has stated, "At the time of admission, all admitted candidates will have to submit a Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form. The admitted candidates may also have to undergo a Physical Fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute. Admission is liable to be cancelled if a candidate is found physically unfit to pursue their chosen course of study."
