Assam University offers a wide range of UG, PG, certificate, and doctoral courses under various specialisations, and it accepts CUET scorecards/ranks mainly for its UG courses.

Candidates willing to apply to UG courses of Assam University through CUET should have a minimum aggregate of 55%-60%. These marks are the minimum qualifying criteria for candidates to be considered for the CUET entrance exam through which students will become eligible for admission to Assam University.

Assam University provides admission to its MBA programme through Jawaharlal Nehru School of Management (JNSM). The university accepts admission through national-level entrance examinations such as CAT/ CMAT/CUCET.

Besides these entrance exams, there is university’s entrance exam through which Assam University inducts applicants to its MBA course, its four specialisations. The next step to get admission to the university's MBA after taking any of the exams mentioned above is getting your rank above the closing rank given in the merit list released by Assam University, followed by the Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Candidates willing to take admission to Assam University must appear in some entrance exams like CUET, JEE-Mains, CAT, WSAT, among others, and successful performance in these exams is essential for the candidate to secure admission. 

After having a valid scorecard/ rank allotted, interested candidates need to check for the merit list, which is released from the university side from their official website. Candidates seeking admission to M.Ed course at Assam University should have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in B.Ed/BA, B.Ed/B.Sc B.Ed/B.El.Ed from a recognised University. All seats will be filled based on merit in the CUET-2023 to be conducted by NTA. However, up to a maximum of 50% of seats shall be reserved for candidates who graduated from Assam University affiliated colleges with the provision of lateral migration based on merit. Candidates without CUET scores shall not be considered eligible for admission. A Weightage of five additional credit points shall be given to the candidates possessing a master’s degree with at least 50% marks. Other things being equal preference shall be given to the candidates with experience of teaching in recognised institutions.

Assam University accepts admission for its BSc-B.Ed course mainly through CUET-UG. Candidates who are interested in taking admission to BSc-B.Ed integrated course must take the examination described above. 

BSc-B.The Ed integrated course of Assam University is combination of both BSc and B.Ed, providing a more comprehensive and enhanced knowledge for students who further want to shift their career towards teaching.

Applicants must have a valid scorecard/ rank in CUET-UG, which must be above the closing range mentioned in the merit list released by Assam University. After the release of the merit list, eligible applicants should register for the counselling process through the university’s official website, followed by document verification and fee payment.

There are many entrance examinations which candidates take to secure their seat in many of the MBA colleges, including Jawaharlal Nehru School of Management (JNSW) but the most popular entrance examination through which candidates, as well as colleges and universities, is Common Aptitude Test (CAT), whose ranks are accepted by numerous colleges/universities.

Apart from CAT, other main entrance examinations lead to admission to an MBA at Assam University. These are CMAT, XAT, CUCET and WSAT, through which candidates can take admission in MBA at the above university.

Assam University provides a 2-year full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) course. The programme aims to equip the students with comprehensive skills and in-depth understanding of the theory and practice of real-life-management within a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural setting. The specific objectives of the MBA programme are to enable the graduates to:

• understand and be able to analyse the socioeconomic, political, technological and ecological environment of businesses and their interfaces with society
• ·acquire state-of-the-art knowledge and skills in the basic disciplines and functional areas of management
• develop positive, dynamic and innovative attitudes to be able to manage change and contribute meaningfully to organisational growth in a fast-changing borderless world, and also
• develop values, sensitivity towards societal problems, and the urge to promote human well-being.  

Candidates willing to take admission in MA in Education at Assam University should have a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in B.Ed. Examination or with at least 40% marks in honours course or 45% marks in UG degree in Arts, Science or Commerce are eligible for admission.

Assam University admission in MA in Education seats are filled up based on merit in the CUET-2023 to be conducted by NTA. However, up to a maximum of 50% of the seat shall be reserved for candidates who graduated from Assam University-affiliated colleges with lateral migration based on merit. Candidates without CUET score shall not be considered eligible for admission in the said course.
