Q:   Can I join Aliah University directly?

For most courses, including B.Tech, BCA, BBA+MBA, B.Ed, B.Sc (Nursing), MCA, LLM, MA, MSC, BA (Hons.), BSc (Hons.), M.Tech, and PhD, the university requires candidates to appear for the Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT) and meet the eligibility criteria, which typically includes a minimum of 50% aggregate in Class 12 for UG courses and a relevant degree for PG courses. The university also offers direct entry to the second year of the B.Tech programme for eligible students. Therefore, for most programs, direct admission without appearing for the entrance test is not the standard procedure. The Aliah University Admission Test is held by the Aliah University, Kolkata to provide admission to candidates into various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses offered by the university. AUAT is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper test) and the duration of the entrance exam is 2 hours. Candidates have to register themselves online on the official website of Aliah University to fill out the AUAT application forms.

To prepare for the AUAT exam, candidates need to know and understand the exam pattern, marking scheme, and syllabus well enough to ace the entrance exam. The entrance exam is divided into two parts, Part A and Part B. Part A is based on general knowledge and testing of the English skills which is of 25 marks while Part B is based on the course opted for, which carries 75 marks.
