Aligarh Muslim University accepts Persian/4 exam to shortlist candidates for admission to seven undergraduate courses. 

The list of AMU courses, admission to which is based on performance of the candidate in CUET, is mentioned below:

1. BSc (Hons) Community Science
2. BA (Hons in Hindi/ Persian/ Philosopy/ Sanskrit)
3. BVoc- Production Technology
4. BVoc- Polymer and Coating Technology
5. BVoc- Fashion Design & Garment Technology
6. BSc (Hons in Geography/ Statistics)
7. BA (Hons in Persian/4 Women's studies)

Candidates seeking admission to any of the above-listed courses need to fill out the CUET application form through the CUET official website to appear for the entrance exam. Apart from CUET, the candidates also need to register on the AMU official website for application form, counselling and Persian/9

The minimum marks required for admission to AMU depends on the selected course. Generally, for all the UG courses the minimum requirement is that the candidate must have passed class 12 with a minimum 50% aggregate and for AMU PG courses admission, 50% in graduation is required.

There is no such provision for direct admission to any of the programmes offered at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Yes, Aligarh Muslim University admission to most of the courses is based on CUET scores. Admission to AMU undergraduate courses including  BSc (Hons.) Community Science, BA (Hons/Research), BVoc in Production Technology, Polymer and Coating Technology and Fashion Design & Garment Technology and BSc (Hons/Research) is completely based on valid Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) scores. No, the university is open to all irrespective of caste, creed, religion or gender. All one has to do is fulfill the eligibility criteria and secure a seat in this university. Admission to various courses is based on merit and entrance exam scores. The accepted entrance exams are the AMU Entrance Exam,  CUET, and others. Aligarh Muslim University do follow a reservation policy which can be checked from the official website. Recently, in a press statement as released by the Indian Express, Aligarh University member clarified that the university has never followed a policy of reserving seats for Muslims. “It rather reserves 50% seats for internal students regardless of their religion or caste, ”. 

AMU conducts its own entrance test called Aligarh Muslim University Common Admission Test (AMU-CAT) for admission to the MBA course. The Admission Test shall be held at Aligarh, Kolkata & Kozhikode. Based on the marks secured by the candidates in the AMU-CAT entrance test, a merit list for admission will be drawn. Candidates whose names appear in the merit list released by the University are then required to appear for the Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD & PI) round. The final selection is based on the candidates' performance in the counselling process, conducted by AMU.

The total tuition fee for a BSc at AMU is INR 36,000. However, students might have to pay additional charges depending upon their chosen specialisation. Other components included in the AMU fees are hostel fees, medical insurance, mess and other security deposits, etc. It must be noted that the mentioned fee is subject to change and hence, is indicative.

In terms of placements, AMU has maintained a good record for Law courses. As per the NIRF report 2023, the highest median package offered during 2022 placements was INR 12.30 LPA and was made to BA LLB students.
