• Candidates should have cleared higher secondary examination Class 12 that is conducted by CBSE, West Bengal or equivalent exam, not before 2020.
• The candidate must pass Class 12 with at least five recognised subjects, including English language and excluding Environmental Science. The aggregate is to be calculated in the best four recognised subjects.

The university has not released any set of marks required for admission at Presidency University, Kolkata. However, students who are looking for admission need to meet the last educational qualification. The eligibility for the course is to pass Class 12 with 60% to 65% aggregate and the selection criteria is through PUBDET. 

Jee main cut off Presidency University offers admission to its undergraduate (UG) B.Sc courses through various state and national entrance examinations. To be eligible for UG courses, prospective candidates have the option to appear for the following entrance exams: Presidency University conducts its own entrance exam, known as PUEET, for UG admissions.

Candidates can also gain eligibility for UG courses by appearing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). The university sets specific cut-off percentiles for JEE Main scores. KCET Presidency University considers KCET scores for admission to its UG programs. COMEDK Candidates who have taken the COMEDK UGET can also seek admission to UG courses at Presidency University. EAMCET scores are considered for eligibility in certain UG programs. The cut-off percentile for admission through JEE Main varies based on the candidate's category. Generally, for the general category, the cut-off is in the range of 70-75 percentile. For candidates from SC/ST categories, the cut-off is typically in the range of 60-70 percentille. 

Students who have cleared Class 12 or an equivalent exam, are eligible to apply for UG course at Presidency University. They should also have cleared their Class 12 exam in any five subjects including English with an aggregate ranging from 60%-70% for different courses.

Step 1: Visit the official website of the University, i.e., Presidency University

Step 2: Register with details, such as name, father’s name, mother’s maiden name, date of birth, etc. and set a password for the application form.

Step 3: Log in with the set email ID and password.

Step 4: The application form will appear on the screen, fill in all the educational details and choice of courses in the form.

Step 5: Once applied, an acknowledgement page is generated and the application process is completed.

Step 6: Take a printout of the acknowledgement page and other pages of the application for future reference.

Note: The candidate has to pay INR 500 while applying for PUBDET and PUMDET.

The candidate have cleared (not before 2019) or appeared for BA (Hons) examination in 2023 from any recognised University. Appeared for BA  (Hons) exam and should have their final results at the time of counselling and produce their original mark sheets/grade cards of all semester/annual examinations passed at the Bachelor’s level. Such candidates must fulfil the academic eligibility norms for their applied courses tabled below for admission.

The candidate should appeared for their final BA (Hons) examination, but their final results have not been declared at the time of counselling, such candidates shall be given provisional admission on the basis of production of their previous mark sheets/grade cards of all previous semester/annual examinations at their Bachelor’s level. However, candidates are supposed to submit their final mark sheet till the mentioned date to ensure that they fulfil their minimum eligibility criteria for admission. Must secure the minimum required percentage of marks/CGPA in honours/major subject as per the following table in their BA (Hons) examination for final and confirmed admission.

PUMDET is generally conducted in the month of June-July. The entrance exam dates are informed in advance for students to prepare well for the test. Last year, PUMDET exam scheduled was revised. PUMDET 2023 exam was held on July 30. After the exam, PUMDET result is declared on the official website of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). Candidates are informed that the result for Presidency University Master Degree Entrance Test (PUMDET) is declared in the form of Rank Cards.
