Good infrastructure with new technologies now. Best faculty members.
Placements: My major was psychology, so for psychology, there were no placements but many other departments had placements in good companies but their concern was 2 years agreement. And for the internship,p we had to do an internship for 15 days but we had to search for internship places and compete.
Infrastructure: For psychology students, we had psychology labs where we had all the materials for our practicals and we had 2 libraries with lots of books and laptops that were provided with free Wi-Fi for students, and every classroom had a projector which was very useful for every single student to learn better. We have three canteens and they provide food with affordable prices. To tell you about the medical facility, we had a medical room and a resting room. For sports, we have teachers' sports and students' sports where all the teachers and students can take part.
Faculty: Teachers were well qualified and the way they teach is excellent, but some teachers are rude when students ask them doubts. Every professor makes sure they make PPTs to explain a topic so that students can learn and understand better. And for exams, we had two exams in one semester. Assignments and record book completion marks will be added in our semester mark sheet. Pass percentage 30 marks for 100.
Other: My major was psychology and journalism, I chose psychology because I wanted to become a psychologist, we learned about many disorders and many other things which is very interesting. To tell about events, kristu jayanti college conducts many events for every department and encourages students to participate and show their talents.

Faculty members of humanities department are really amazing and very helpful.
Placements: Placement of college is average. Students need to be prepared for it before the 5th semester. The highest salary package was around 4 LPA-5 LPA and mostly people from the commerce department get placed because of their industry visits and compulsory internships. Very few people got placed this year. One thing that needs to be improved is college should provide placement training which was not given.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of college is good. It has boys hostel. The canteen food is good. They have 2 canteens. Classrooms are quite big. They can accommodate 100 students. Labs are also there in Science block. The college library has almost all study material we require.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and qualified. The curriculum is also up to the point. For our batch, we had NEP policy, and we were the 1st batch of it. Semester exams are tough in college. The passing percentage is 33%. We also get real-world knowledge examples. In economics, we had mock stock, where we were taught about investing in the stock market via a demo application. In political science, we were briefed by the local police on the work of the police department.

Once Hailed for Its Greatness, Now Mediocre.
Placements: I pursued a B.A., and the placements were disappointing. While the faculty did their best by sharing resources and contacts, the college itself provided minimal training, putting no effort into ensuring each student found a job matching their skills and passion. Though a handful did secure placements, they were mostly in commerce or entry-level call center positions. I found a job independently; the college offered no assistance.
Infrastructure: Midway through my time here, the college started demolishing various facilities, leading to a chaotic environment. The once serene quadrangle turned into a construction site, causing inconvenience during exams. Library services were average, with a good book collection, but there was no encouragement to utilize these services. It often felt like even the librarians weren't welcoming to students.
Faculty: I must say the faculty was the only positive aspect of this college, they were still not entirely great. Starting with the strong points, the psychology and English departments were always open to students and supported us in any way possible. The journalism department gave us access to the media lab and resources needed to learn practical knowledge, and the faculty themselves were very well-informed about what they were teaching. I had no complaints with the language departments. However, faculty turnover was frequent, occurring almost every other month, and the process of hiring new professors took an unreasonably long time. The English department faced this issue for an extended period and eventually changed their Head of Department (HOD), which proved to be a poor decision. The journalism department, in particular, has been severely understaffed for over a year. I must also note that the journalism department was entirely closed off to students who needed extra support. They showed a lack of understanding and identified only the students they deemed to be performing well, focusing solely on their development. The HOD was also observed to be extremely rude to students on occasion, making us wait outside the department for 1-2 hours straight while waiting for project approvals instead of simply communicating when they would be available. It was understandable that, due to the department being understaffed, the HOD was stretched thin and couldn't always cater to all our needs. However, there was no justification for her to be as rude and partial as she was. I still appreciate their interest in preparing students for the industry, but the way they went about it was simply bad. Despite these issues, the faculty remains a stronghold of this institution.

Psychology is great here, but I would not recommend Optional English.
Placements: There isn’t placement for my course, so I’m not sure, but there’s a group where they send internship or job opportunities that you can apply for. Career opportunities for my course are content writers, journalism, editors, psychologists, HR, etc. People do get internships, but they normally look on their own without help from the college.
Infrastructure: There are labs, classrooms, a library, canteen, a ground for football and volleyball, etc. Wi-Fi is there, but we don’t have access to it. There isn’t a girls' hostel, as far as my knowledge. The boys' hostel is decent, but the curfew is 6:30/7. The canteen is very affordable and tasty.
Faculty: The psychology faculty and curriculum are good and interesting. Optional English I wouldn’t recommend. It’s not easy or interesting, and the faculty isn’t very helpful. The exams are easy if you’re a regular student and pay attention in class. There are also internal marks.
Other: Mine is the first shift, so classes start by 7 and get over by 12, and hence I have the whole day to do something else. I love that I chose the course for psychology but regret optional English. The campus crowd is great; you’ll find all kinds of people.

A university that can provide much better teaching and placements.
Placements: Around 50 students are in my class, out of which around 5 of them dropped out. Our placements haven't begun yet. Around 20-25 of us have had internships in the course of 3 years. I'm not sure about others, but I interned at the Hindu. Journalism, researchers, etc. are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: Recently, our department has acquired a new floor exclusive to our course with Wi-Fi and a library close by. I stay in a PG, which is very convenient since the college is just a 5-min walk. The food is enough to survive on. There are not many medical facilities around; even if there are, they are very expensive for students like us.
Faculty: The teachers are alright, but based on some students, the curriculum is relevant only to an extent since we aren't given broadcasting journalism since our course comes under the English department instead of the media and communication department. The exams are quite easy, actually.
Other: I chose this course mainly because it sounded interesting. The best thing I found about this course was how easy it felt, but I would change a lot of things in the course, like including broadcast journalism and corporate journalism more. I would also change the departments to the media communications department because they would have more exposure to the news and entertainment industry. Events and first on campus were pretty basic, like for the first year I had so much fun; it was really good. The second year clashed with some issues, and the third year only one of our first has been conducted; the second one will be conducted. Next semester I am looking forward to that.

    Government First Grade College, Channapatna.
Placements: Most of my classmates are pursuing higher studies, while many others are working as teachers in schools. Some have secured positions in banks and companies. However, all these roles and jobs were obtained through their own efforts, not through the college, as there are no internships or placements offered by the college.
Infrastructure: The college has a good infrastructure with two buildings. The new building is equipped with modern facilities, including an auditorium. The campus also has Wi-Fi facilities and a canteen that offers affordable food options for students.
Faculty: The faculty members are helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable, with many holding Ph.D. degrees. They aim to make students industry-ready by organizing presentations, PPT sessions, and industrial visits to companies and banks. The semester exams are moderately challenging, but students can pass with proper preparation.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in literature, history, and economics. It provides a comprehensive understanding of various topics that affect our surroundings. The campus hosts many events and fests like Ethnic Day, Folk Day, club inaugurations, and club valedictories. Scholarships are available from both the state and central governments. The college is well-connected by buses and private transportation.
