Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Is DAV University good for BCom?

A:
The University is approved by UGC. DAV University (DAVU) offers degree and Diploma courses to candidates at UG, PG, and doctoral levels. The university offers the BCom course at UG-level lasting for three years. DAV University BCom course fees  range from INR 80,00 to INR 2.2 Lakh
Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, candidates can summarize the overall review of the courses offered:
  • Teaching and Curriculum: The teaching quality is overall good, with professors being helpful and knowledgeable. The curriculum is considered suitable for students, with a mix of theory and practical learning.
  • Placement Opportunities: While DAV University doesn't guarantee 100% placements, many reputed companies like Hero Cycles, Reliance Jio, and Samsung have recruited students. However, students must be prepared to compete with peers from other departments, and placements might depend on individual performance.
  • Infrastructure and Facilities: The university has decent infrastructure, with modern classrooms, laboratories, and recreational spaces. Hostel facilities are available, although some students find the food quality lacking.* Campus Life: Festivals and cultural events are celebrated throughout the year, providing opportunities for socializing and skill-building.
  • Research and Internship Opportunities: While these seem limited, some students reported getting internship offers during their summers, which can be beneficial for career growth.
  • Scholarship Options: Scholarships are available, making higher education more accessible to deserving students.
In conclusion, while DAV University may not excel in every aspect, it seems like a decent choice for those seeking a Bachelor's degree in Commerce. With its relatively affordable tuition fees and decent placement record, students may find it a viable option for pursuing their academic goals.

I am absolutely satisfied because of good faculty and course curriculum was appropriate.
Placements: I am a student of 2016-20 batch. I opted for Agriculture course. During our final year we got many opportunities for placement by different companies but since I was determined to pursue for my master's degree so I did not appear in any of the placements. Some of my classmates got placed as well.
Infrastructure: The facilities we were provided with were quite average. Although the Wi-Fi facility was apt but other things like the equipments in the laboratory were not up-to-date. In the hostel, the basic requirements were provided and the mess food was not so delicious.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and full of knowledge. Their teaching quality was up to the mark. If any student was in any sort of problem then he/she could directly consult with the concerned teacher and they would provide them with the possible solution. This course curriculum was appropriate.
Other: This course helped me to understand the basic problems of farmers and even provide them with the newest technology.

I am satisfied with this college.
Placements: Many students got placed in many companies such as Wipro, Byjus, etc. The salary package is approximately 4 LPA. Approximately 40% of the students got placed in this field. Top companies like Byju's, Wipro, P&G, IFFCO and many more visit our university for placements.
Infrastructure: Facilities are very good in both hostel and university buildings. In the hostel, there are facilities like a geyser and freshwater. The aquifer is set up in every corridor and every floor. Wi-Fi facilities are also very good, and the quality of the food is also satisfying. There is a dispensary on the campus. The mess provides milk, lassi, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members here are very helpful and qualified. The main thing is teachers are friendly and can understand students very efficiently. The teaching quality of the teachers is good. The course curriculum is easy for students, and they can learn the syllabus very easily. Students will be very improved to face industries.
Other: I am from a rural area, and I am very interested in agriculture. So I chose this course. The best thing about this course is it taught us that good food is obtained from hard work and high knowledge. I want to improve my English skills. Scholarship facility is also available.

Excellent facilities with hardworking teachers.
Placements: There are no 100% placements among different courses, as the university was established only 5 years ago, but they assured that 75% of placements are available for the B.Tech students. However, approximately 250 companies visit here every year in search of talented and deserving students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not that good as expectations, but the facilities they provide are far better than other colleges. Wi-Fi is also available for everyone all over the campus. Good hostel facilities are available within campus and sports curriculum is also good as physical education department is also available here.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful and highly qualified. You can pursue any stream like B.Sc agriculture (hon), B.Sc microbiology, B.Sc English, M.Sc agriculture, M.Com, MBA and many more. As I am pursuing B.Sc agriculture (hon), and they are focusing on practical values more than theoretical.
Other: Many events are organised here, as per the student's expectations.

DAV provide quantity knowledge but not quality knowledge as its not good so need much improvement.
Placements: Approximately 78%students were placed in my course. The highest salary offered was 7 Lacs per annum, the average salary was 5 lakh per annum and the lowest salary was 3.6 Lacs per annum. Students got an internship in IIFCO, National seeds limited Tata limited, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahindra agriculture.
Infrastructure: There are well-maintained labs with all required materials for practical works and fields are also very well managed approximately acres of land is under practical work in the university. Hostel facilities are too good food is of the best quality and the rooms are ventilated, neat and clean also. Equipment required in the field is also available and in very good manner.
Faculty: Teachers are good. Not that much knowledgeable they prefer theoretical knowledge for providing the students not practical that's not of much importance. Students need practical knowledge ad that's long-lasting theoretically we can forget but things we do by our hands remain printed in our brains.
Other: There is an agro club in our department that organise sports meets and cultural activities also every year in the university students of agriculture department provide very talented students as singer-dancers and sportsman also to the university. I chose this course because my parents were insisting me for joining this.

Was really disappointed because of poor faculty and infrastructure, teachers hardly guide.
Placements: To be frank this university do not provide with any placement for agriculture students hardly one company visited to the university to take interview not offering good package. We were the first batch to pass out from this university and students got placement and placement cell hardly shows their presence.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average as it lacks auditorium and proper classrooms and the laboratory lack lot of equipments. Infrastructure does not meet the standard of university level. This university do not have auditorium can you believe a university without auditorium and proper classrooms are without projector and proper sitting arrangement No student friendly campus. You hardly get transport facility or poor facility to visit the university. No proper hostel in the university campus and no proper meals available the campus hostel is underground with drainage system which is unhygienic and no medical facility available in the campus which make it worse. The account department is the worst they will try their best to take all the money you have and in return you get zero which means if you are planning to invest for your future it will ruin your future.
Faculty: Faculty teaches in local language and are not experienced enough and lack coordination with each other of same department and do partiality if you belong to teachers state they will treat you good and if not you know. No proper knowledge to teacher they teach from other university notes and do not give any explanation just dictate and want us to full our copies with writing whatever they dictate.
Other: No doubt it conduct events but in last 5 years since it started only one fest was organised and teachers are recruited on the basis of their relation and contacts with administration members.

The university has good placements but students prefer to go for Master’s degree before getting placed. It gives them more opportunities.
