Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University Agra is a public government university, formerly known as DBRA University Agra or Agra University. Agra University is recognised by the UGC and accredited with a “B” Grade by the NAAC. DBRA University Agra is affiliated with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Medical Council of India (MCI), Distance Education Bureau (DEB) and others.

Established in 1927, Bhimrao Ambedkar University Agra has over 200 affiliated colleges with an enrolment of 21 million students. DBRA University Agra has about 15 residential institutes spread over its four residential campuses that are Paliwal Park, Khandari Campus, Civil Lines Campus, and Chhaleshar Campus. DBRAU now caters to the educational needs of the 7 districts of Agra Division which includes Agra, Aligarh, Mainpuri, Hathras, Firozabad, Etah, and Mathura.
