Candidates applying for UG courses at Fakir Mohan University must complete a minimum of Class 12. The aggregate for UG courses is mostly 45%. Hence, aspirants with 70% aggregate in Class 12 are eligible to apply for UG admission. There is a relaxation of 5% in aggregate for reserved category aspirants. Besides, candidates must also fulfil the selection requirements for the opted programme.

Fakir Mohan University offers admission to PG and PhD courses based on entrance-exam scores. The university shortlists candidates for MBA and MCA courses based on OJEE scores. Fakir Mohan University offers some of the UG and PG courses in self-financing mode. The courses include MPhil, BA LLB, MSc Applied Microbiology, MSc Chemistry, B.Ed-M.Ed, MLIS and PMIR. The self-financing courses are not subsidised by the university and aspirants need to pay the full cost of the couse.
