B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology with Research - Batch of 2027

Nice university to pursue this course because the lab of biotechnology is too good.
Placements: Placement is not available for all courses. Only the School of Management got placement opportunities; other departments don't have placements. In the B.Sc. biotechnology course, you do not get any placement but can get many opportunities given by your professors, and webinars and seminars are also conducted by the faculty members for your knowledge.
Infrastructure: Many departments do not have AC. But the faculty members are very good and belong to very good fields with experience. Hostel rooms are quite good, and the mess food is like other messes, not too good but okay. Medical facilities are provided, and extracurricular activities are also there to take part in. The library is quite big and great.
Faculty: The teaching quality is too good, I must say. The only thing I can proudly say about this university is the facilities and the way of teaching. The semester exams are moderate or quite hard, but an average student can pass them easily by studying.
Other: Why did I choose this course? Nice question because I do not know the answer yet. But I am not regretting choosing this course, although biotechnology does not have too much scope in India, the labs in GBU are very well developed and provide more equipment compared to other universities nearby.

Review of Gautam Buddha University Greater Noida.
Placements: No. of placement students, it depends on their CGPA and academic record. If CGPA and academic record are good, then surely they get a placement. The highest package offered till now is 40 LPA, and the average package is 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, etc. About internships, our university runs many internship programs, and you can get internship easily in Noida itself and in other nearby states. The top role offered is in coding.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this university is very good, and the facilities are also good. Labs are available for students. Wi-Fi is available and centralized air conditioning is available for all departments. In a hostel, you will get a fan, table, chair, bookshelf, bed, and an almirah. The quality of food offered in the mess is decent, there are near-good medicine facilities that are available 24 hours a day, and sports opportunities are good in this university.
Faculty: All teachers are helpful, except in math and vocational faculty. All teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is only decent. Yes, our course makes students industry-ready if they study properly and follow instructions given by faculty. Semester exams are a little bit tough, and the pass percentage of our course is like in the first year. 10 students have a year back out of 70.

Management is poor, but infrastructure is pretty good.
Placements: My course placement is really poor, and their main priority is science students. As for internships, students have to search for them on there own. There are several companies that approached the university, mostly IT companies, but there are platforms like StudyLance too.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is pretty good; it's state government University. It covers 511 acres, has it's own library, hostels (both boys and girls), indoor stadium, shopping complex, faculty and 8 different schools for different courses, etc. The campus is quite peaceful and calm.
Faculty: Permanent or senior faculty for my course are really helpful, very professional, and polite. The only problem with guest faculty is that they change every semester or even in between, and not all of them teach well. Every semester, they conduct 2 exams.
Other: I wanted to explore more about the English language and I have indeed explored it a lot more, and my vision for that subject is different now. The crowd is basically local. I wish my campus could impoverish it's management.

It is a good university in terms of infrastructure and sports.
Placements: There are many good companies that visit the campus for providing jobs to students, like Wipro, HCL, Airtel, Oppo, Vivo, etc. Here, internships as well as placements are very good, and most of the students get placed in good companies. Very active placement cell.
Infrastructure: The entire campus is Wi-Fi-enabled, with a great library, labs with proper equipment, smart classrooms, and a fully packed college. The campus has all the facilities like a canteen, mess, game centers, infirmary, etc. Very good quality of food that the university provides.
Faculty: The only issue is that assignments are not assigned as much as they should have been, but the quality of teaching is great and appreciable. There are many permanent teachers and outstanding staff members to provide the best studying experience. Very good.
Other: The entire campus is Wi-Fi-enabled, with a great library, labs with proper equipment, smart classrooms, and a fully packed college. The campus has all the facilities like a canteen, mess, game centers, infirmary, etc.

GBU (infrastructure and facilities).
Placements: Almost 90% of students from the passed-out batch secured placements. The highest package offered was 51 LPA, while the lowest was 3.5 LPA. The average package ranged between 6-7 LPA. Top recruiters included companies like Google, Microsoft, Grow, TCS, and Wipro. Additionally, around 80% of students secured internships in companies such as Indian Oil, Grow, and Microsoft.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are well-maintained and equipped with internet facilities via Wi-Fi and LAN. The college has a large central library and well-furnished labs. Hostel facilities are excellent, offering single-seater rooms and good quality food in the mess and canteen. A dispensary provides free medical services, and sports facilities are top-notch, with an annual sports meet being organized regularly.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive, assisting students with all their academic and personal challenges. The quality of teaching is excellent, ensuring that students understand the concepts clearly. The course curriculum is relevant and helps students become industry-ready. Semester exams are manageable, and the pass percentage is over 90%.
Other: I chose this course because I aspire to become a software engineer, and the course is well-structured and effectively taught here. While placements are good, there is scope for further improvement. The college organizes events and fests annually. Students with a UP domicile can apply for scholarships through the state’s program.

1Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life2Value for Money
GBU: Yes or No for B.Com. (hons)
Placements: The placements are not that good because commerce students are generally asked to be seated in BBA's placement drives. Companies small or big, it's the student's talent and skills that give him/her the job, but there were no such opportunities to enhance such skills, for example, good internships, regular field trips, or interactive activities held in the university to learn and understand the practical application of the theoretical learning done in the lectures.
Infrastructure: There are a lot of facilities at the university, from the library to computer labs. But they were not used to their best potential, and the students were not much interested in learning and utilising the resources provided to them. The hostel life was not good for the students either; there was less hygiene and no good food available. The campus is HUGE, but the mobility of students is through walking only, or if they have personal vehicles available.
Faculty: The curriculum and the exams for the course were good. The teachers and professors were knowledgeable and keen on sharing there knowledge. Some of the teachers followed the old and traditional learning methods, which made the curriculum boring, but some of the teachers made their course a cake walk by giving us case studies and representing theory and practice simultaneously.

Q:   Which section of MAT exam has maximum weightage?

A:

Each section of MAT exam has equal weightage. All the five sections - Language Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis and Data Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills and Indian & Global Environment have 30 questions. Each question carries one mark thus the section wise weightage of marks is 30 per section. There is negative marking of 0.25 in MAT. Since, every section has equal weightage, you need to prepare well for each one of them for a good overall score. Even in the exam, spend a good amount of time on each section and solve a minimum number of questions to meet the sectional cut off. Since, there is no sectional time-limit in MAT exam. Candidates can decide themselves how much time they should spend on which section as one needs to score well in all sections because of equal weightage. Out of 2 hours or 120 minutes, candidates should allot maximum time to the section they find tough or are calculation intensive. It is advisable to attempt the easier sections first and then move to tougher sections.
