Gautam Buddha University shortlists candidates for most of the courses based on GBU-ET. It is a university entrance exam conducted for admission to MBA, BTech, PhD, etc. National or state-level entrance exams such as GATE, CLAT, JEE Main, etc. are also accepted for a few courses. For courses such as BA, MA, MSc, MTech, etc., the admissions are based on merit in the last qualifying exam.

Direct admission is possible only for a few courses such as MA, BA, BCom, MTech, etc. Such candidates only need to fill out the application form and meet the eligibility requirements for admission.

Academic fee shall be refunded in case of withdrawal of admission from the course of study in which he/ she is enrolled as per the UGC norms. Gautam Buddha University shall refund the security deposit in full. Once the hostel is allotted, then the hostel fee for the semester shall not be refunded in case of admission withdrawal.
