Good infra, placements are ok, labs are poor, hidden charges, teachers are average, notes are avg.

Placements: Placements are good as compared to other colleges under our university (BPUT). But there is a catch. As a mechanical engineer, you will be for forced to sit in BPOs which is not good. If you get placed early in the college campus drives, you are lucky. You will be among the lucky 20 percent of students. Most of the companies are software here so as a mechanical engineering rooting for a core company, your chances are bleak. So make sure you vet placed early or you will be forced to sit in BPOs w...

GIET Gunupur - Very good place to acquire knowledge.

Placements: Placement is decent. Mostly software companies like TCS and Wipro visit at the starting. Then core companies also visit at the later part of the placement drives. Companies line Windcare, Hexaware Technologies, Mind tree, Capgemini, Symphony, Jindal visit the college for the campus.

Dissatisfied due to continuously dwindling standards in all terms.

Placements: Although the college shows 95% placement in all years, but the ground reality is that the quality of jobs offered and the packages are really low. Apart from TCS and Tech Mahindra, no other reputed companies visit the college. The placement training in this college is purely TCS oriented. The salary offered by these companies is the highest in the college (3-3.5 LPA). Hardly 150 students out of 1000 make it to these companies. Rest of the students are offered jobs in BPO and call centers with ar...

Really good infrastructure.

Placements: There is a good placement in this college. Last year more than 90% students have been placed. Minimum 1 lakh and maximum 9 lakh pa packages have been offered. Companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, Huawei were there. Here 40% students have got internships from different companies as mentioned above. The average stipend was Rs. 40,000.

Real good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: In 2016, the total number of placed students is 400, out of which 189 students are placed in Tata Consultancy Services, 30 students are placed in Tech Mahindra, 20 students are placed in Hexaware Technologies, 20 are placed in Cavission System INC(Noida based), and 15 are placed in Arcotech Limited(mechanical based jobs). More than 60% students are placed in our batch. The highest package is 3.34 lakhs per annum by TCS and the lowest package is 2.5 lakhs per annum by Hexaware Technologies. Mainl...

About GIET, Gunupur (main campus).

Placements: Lots of companies comes to the college but hire a penny amount of students. Majority companies that come are either startups or small organisations. Many of the placements are fake. It shows 100% placements, but the truth is that only 60% of the students gets placed.

Misleading college, ruining careers with fake placements. Management is terrible.

Placements: Bogus placements. All the work the training and placement cell does is for publicity. Just for printing ad in the local newspaper so that they can attract students. Indeed, they give placements but the companies are from Mars or Pluto. I mean you wouldn't have heard the company name in your life, nor your friends. The companies will offer as poor as 8000~10000 per month and half of them are fake, many of them will terminate you after 3 months. Only TCS is a good company for going in. This cultur...

Never think of this college.

Placements: The college placed almost 80-85% students on an average but amongst them, 40% students got a fake placement. Companies visits the college, selects some of them but never gave the call letter. I was also placed but never got a call from the company.

Good placements and teachers are helpful but administration is very dictating on students.

Placements: Placement is one of the best in Odisha among the other private engineering colleges but the salary for placements may be less starting from 8k only and can go upto 35-40k. Good companies like TCS and Tech Mahindra also come for placement. Overall, placement in 2014 is over 90 percent is what they show but actually, it is around 65-75 percent.

It is a very bad College. Fake commitment and non-cooperative management. They are showing big dreams but actually they are totally playing with the future of the students. Most of the placements are fake. Faculty is very poor when it comes to subject knowledge. Most of the faculty members are inexperienced.

The campus has everything that a student needs, starting from education to extra-curricular activities. Library is well maintained and contains ample amount of books which a student needs, like famous magazines, books, novels, entrance preparative books and much more. This is one of the worst colleges in the state. The administration is purely fraudulent as it only cares about the money. The college has a poor campus and facilities. I should not recommend anyone to go to this college. Also, the faculty is not up to the mark. The location of the college is very remote and it is completely secluded. Sometimes, it feels like you’re staying in a jail.

It is a good college. It has 24 hour library facilities and attractive infrastructure. It follows strict discipline. The placements are not good as most of the students who gets placement get the profile as a data entry operator, salesman or mechanic. The college is located far from the remote area and hence transportation problem occurs. Faculty is not up to the mark. Quality of education is also not so good.

GIET a good college with infrastructure, library, good teachers left at 2009(not sure the present condition). No time wastage source present "Theatre" "shopping mall". The management is very strict. Breaking college rules will not be entertained. Even, if you are bunking and roaming in the market place. Management has the power to trace you and drag you to class. Proper care of students. Preplacement training is the best part of this college.

GIET has the reputation of producing good engineers with the experienced faculty it have. Placement of this college is around 85-90% each year. College is full of green. I studied here for 4 years but I never got ragging and I have not done to anyone else because if you do the consequences are very bad. We have a Disciplinary Commit, who takes care of all the undone things.
