Good and natural campus is there.
Placements: 60% students have been placed from our course. The highest package is about 4 LPA. Top recruiters are Nestle, Amul, ITC, Haldirams, etc. All the students get internship but due to lack of skills they do not get any. Top roles offered are Quality manager, testing, food inspection, food analyst and food safety officer.
Infrastructure: All the equipment are available in the college. Clean labs, Wi-Fi, separate libraries per department, AC labs, machines, etc. are available. Hostel’s mess is really good. A library is available in the hostel.
Faculty: Teaching quality is good. Every teacher is experienced and well knowledgeable. If a student wants to learn then they would become ready for the food industry. It depends on a student if he/she studies or not. Semester exams are easy. The pass percentage is approximately 90%.
Other: I chose this course because I have interest in this field. The best thing about our course is that we have to deal daily with all the food products so it’s great to study them more by doing this course.

College is good for theoretical knowledge but not for shaping students for an industrialised world.
Placements: In this degree, you can have variegated subjects covered in the food technology area, but your theoretical knowledge is only tested here. Professors have good knowledge, but for the practical knowledge, you have to do an internship and job as you have no scope here. Everything related to internships or jobs have to be arranged by your contacts only. I suggest not to rely on the placement sector. Top recruiters here are ITC Ltd, Nestle and Mondelez Ltd, but sometimes they often blacklist us.
Infrastructure: Hostels at GNDU are below average. There is a provision of Wi-Fi, but the speed and the process for getting the Wi-Fi password are not worth it. The food at the mess is above average. Sports complex and swimming pool complex is a piece of art here, but it is not compatible with the ambition you think to achieve at GNDU during the food technology course.
Faculty: Faculty members are quite good in their fields, but the majority of them would always load off to their PhD students. Most of the faculty members have attendance issues with the class as they are not available for most of their lectures. The curriculum is somewhat average, but it doesn't guarantee to make students industry-ready. Most of the faculty members won't shape you for the outside world.

A place worth spending your time.
Placements: Placements for food science technology branch are not that good. Even for our seniors, only 3-4 companies visited for placements, while for our batch, no company has visited yet. The placement cell is good, but it is much focused towards CSE and every other department which is visible from their placement records.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Guru Nanak Dev University is quite huge. It has various departments, and the labs and classrooms are well-maintained as well. There are numerous places around the campus to have food. There are many sports opportunities available in college for games like football, swimming, fitness shows, badminton, archery, etc. The condition of hostels is not up to the mark, and they are just okay. I didn't face any issues related to infrastructure in specific.
Faculty: The faculty are good. They know what actually to teach and are very cooperative. The course curriculum is fine, but lags somewhere; maybe that is the reason students are not getting jobs. There are approximately 120 students in each class and students are divided into groups of 30 each to allow teachers to pay equal attention to all students during lab hours. We have lectures for covering our syllabus and tutorials are conducted to clear our doubts.
Other: Studying in Guru Nanak Dev University is of quite fun. Lots of fests are organised every year. Students take part in various activities like dancing, singing, drawing, modelling, etc.
