It is a life changing experience.

Placements: I have got a few offers, but I chose a different line of work. I joined banking, and today, I am an assistant manager in the Central Bank of India. However, I won't deny that whatever little success I have achieved is due to the exposure that I have got in my M.A. course.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our department in Gauhati University is good enough for the students to have a good learning environment. The department is well equipped with all the necessary facilities like digital classrooms, computer labs with a free and unlimited internet connection, seminar hall, etc.

Faculty: It won't be wrong to say that our department has the best faculty in the entire university. A good teacher can just teach, but a great teacher enlightens. That is what the faculty members of our department do. They help the students to bring out the best in them.

Other: The occasional programs like freshers program, versity week, Teacher's day celebration, etc., are full of fun and entertainment.

Satisfied with the course however placement and internship services could be better.

Placements: There are no placement or internship roles offered by our department. The department is comparatively new and the concepts are not very well known, hence the number of students who know about this course are very less. There were only 15 students in our department.

Infrastructure: There is free Wi-Fi and drinking water available. There is also a computer lab but only 1 or 2 computers were working. Hostel food was okay but there weren't many options available. There was also a hospital near our department but the facilities are not very good.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful and well versed in the subject they are teaching. Semester exams weren't difficult but they don't give us marks even though the answers are good. Course and curriculum, even though a new idea is relevant and helps us understand the ways of teaching better.

Other: I wanted to improve my English skills hence I chose this course. There were many events and functions happening during my university life but I didn't attend any of them because of the late hours.

Happy with the course however in terms of placements and internships they can do better

Placements: There were 15 students in my batch. There were no packages or no recruiting companies for our department. Our department is comparatively new as compared to others and not many people know about it as of now. Hence internships and roles are less and they need to be increased.

Infrastructure: There was free wifi and drinking water available. The kitchen was clean and classrooms were big. Even the desks and chairs were new and well kept. Hostel food was okay, not many options were provided. We have a common hospital near our department but that isn't in a very good condition.

Faculty: Teachers were very good and helpful and knowledgeable about various topics. Course curriculum is relevant, helps us teach English to other students via interesting methods and ways. Semester exams weren't difficult but teachers don't give proper marks.

Other: I wanted to improve my English skills hence this course. The best thing about my course was the interesting ways in which our teachers taught us the topics. Maybe the teachers can be a bit understanding and the syllabus should be made a little easier as it was very crowded during the 4th sem.
