Just search for the DMET Kolkata and you will know everything about this great college.
Placements: In our college, you have to maintain at least 70% to get placements. Students who score below 70% also get placed. The highest salary package offered is 7.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 1.3 LPA. Pacific Basin, Feet Management, MOL, etc., visit the college. Our college provides internship opportunities for everyone who doesn't have arrear papers. In our college, everyone gets the same trainee role.
Infrastructure: Everything is available with a wide range of features. Sports and games have different levels here. Our college provides us with various opportunities to play. There is a sponsor team to go on to other colleges to participate. There is no comparison in other colleges.
Faculty: All of our faculty members are well-experienced. They came from doing the same job that we will do. They share a lot of information that will help us onboard. They came after sailing the in merchant navy. The difficulty level of semester exams is a bit high because you have to read a larger number of subjects other than normal engineering. The passing percentage is about 80%.
Other: This course provides you with a real experience. They teach you how to love your work. There should be fewer subjects. Some subjects do not have any relation with our real work but we have to read. Fests, campus surroundings, and everything are great. There are a lot of opportunities for you and many types of extracurricular activities are going on continuously.

Bridging dreams and reality: IMU Kolkata.
Placements: Of the cadets who passed out in 2024, out of 238, 231 have been placed and the rest 7 are having arrears or are interested in pursuing a higher degree. The top recruiting companies are NYK, Chevron, Pacific Basin, and M.Sc. Dynagas, Torm Tankers, and many more.
Infrastructure: This is a residential course, so you have to stay in the hostel provided by the college. There are laboratories, libraries, and a mess on the ground floor of the hostel. There's a ground where you can play football, hockey, and cricket. There's a basketball court, badminton court, gym, and a huge auditorium.
Faculty: Most faculty members are pass-outs of this college and retire as chief engineers. They have experience onboard. They help us a lot in gaining knowledge about harsh conditions onboard ships. In the course, you get to learn a bit of everything: electrical, mechanical, electronics, and software engineering as well. The semester exams are a bit tough. Around 70 percent of cadets are able to clear all the subjects.

Faculty: The faculty members were knowledgeable, and helpful. The teaching quality was commendable. The course curriculum was very relevant and made the cadets fit for their future industrial exposure. The difficult level of examinations were under moderate to tough criteria with more than 50 % pass marks .

Course is hard but plays off well.
Placements: All cadets were placed. Packages are similar and depend on the type of ship. Fleet and Anglo were among the recruiters. All students get internships at good companies like Synergy and Chevron. All were placed at the rank of Trainee Marine Engineer. The placement cell, which guides and supports you, consists of students and the head of the placement cell.
Infrastructure: You have the best workshop and Wi-Fi, and the labs are good. Hostels are okay, not the best, but they are still making new ones. The food is okay; you can select your food through the mess member elected by your batchmates. Faculty members are very helpful, even after college. There is an Olympic-size swimming pool and an instructor.
Faculty: Teachers are top-notch officers, especially the chief engineer and Ph.D. holders. The course is relevant and makes students industry-ready. You have to study for semester exams. In some semesters, all students failed one subject. Teachers are willing to teach.
Other: This course is tough, and life is hard. I wish I had studied more seriously. Many events were held, specifically Tempest and a lot of sports fests.

The IMU Kolkata campus has a football ground, basketball court, badminton court, volleyball court, etc. Medical facilities are good. The library has good infrastructure.
Faculty: Teachers on the IMU Kolkata campus are well-educated and have great capabilities. The quality level of faculty members at the Indian Maritime University Kolkata campus is very good. They are also knowledgeable and have good teaching skills and experience. Semester exams are a little tough.

Cadets receive a stipend ranging from 500 dollars to 1000 dollars depending on the company. Top recruiting companies are M.Sc. FLEET, CHEVRON, SYNERGY.
