A well-structured marine engineering course with practical enhancement.
Placements: The overall percentage performance is very good as the industry is rising so there are requirements of the cadets Top recruiting companies of my course are Feet Management Limited and Pacific Basin. About 80 to 90% of the cadets got internships from my course in several shipyards, ports, and logistics companies. Top roles offered in my course are marine engineer, electro-technical officer, and engine cadet.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our course or department is very much. There is well-organised Wi-Fi in classrooms. We have different labs for different subjects. The library is available The quality of the hostel is average. The food quality is above average. There are medical facilities inside the campus Many sports are there like football, basketball, hockey, cricket, volleyball, and many more.
Faculty: Indeed our teachers are very helpful and try to guide us at many points where they can. The overall teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students ready for the industry. Semester exams are not that tough. They are easy if you pay attention in the classes. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: The best thing about this course is that it guides us about upcoming life and solutions to the problems that are forthcoming in the ships. The things I wish would be better to improve my course are more practical training and some improved soft skills. There are fests organised namely Lithosphere and Tempest in which several events are there of literature, technical, sports, etc. Also, several scholarship opportunities are provided. I chose this course because I want to continue my career in shipping.

IMUKC - The DMET legacy, where the future seafarers are trained.
Placements: The college has an excellent alumni network that helps cadets at a very root level. All the cadets were placed. The salary package depends on the type of vessel and company, as the working environment changes. Top recruiting companies are Maersk, M.Sc. NYK, Pacific Basin, Feet Management, IOCL, Torm Tankers, Dynagas, and Scorpion Tankers. Cadets get various internships as well from big ports in India and even internships provided by the Indian Navy. Apart from joining ship as TME to Chief Engineer, they excel in various other fields such as defence, sports, other MNCs, etc.
Infrastructure: The campus is not so big but not so small as well. The college is equipped with basic facilities for sea training. Sports facilities are available; hostel and mess facilities are also available. Apart from that, the college encourages cadets to take part in various other activities like sports, technical paper writing, co-curricular activities, etc.
Faculty: The college is being run by DEMTIANS and has a good range of experienced faculty members. The teaching techniques are very effective and can be easily understood by all the cadets irrespective of linguistic barriers. They make students instant-ready as the curriculum is very relevant. Passing semester exams is not that difficult, as the syllabus are very limited.
Other: The college and course are very adventurous and exciting. Apart from studies, the college has its own sports team (football, cricket, hockey, volleyball, and basketball) and a band team. The college conducts various fests, including TEMPEST (Asia's largest marine fest). The college rainwater harvesting system is being constructed.

Just search for the DMET Kolkata and you will know everything about this great college.
Placements: In our college, you have to maintain at least 70% to get placements. Students who score below 70% also get placed. The highest salary package offered is 7.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 1.3 LPA. Pacific Basin, Feet Management, MOL, etc., visit the college. Our college provides internship opportunities for everyone who doesn't have arrear papers. In our college, everyone gets the same trainee role.
Infrastructure: Everything is available with a wide range of features. Sports and games have different levels here. Our college provides us with various opportunities to play. There is a sponsor team to go on to other colleges to participate. There is no comparison in other colleges.
Faculty: All of our faculty members are well-experienced. They came from doing the same job that we will do. They share a lot of information that will help us onboard. They came after sailing the in merchant navy. The difficulty level of semester exams is a bit high because you have to read a larger number of subjects other than normal engineering. The passing percentage is about 80%.
Other: This course provides you with a real experience. They teach you how to love your work. There should be fewer subjects. Some subjects do not have any relation with our real work but we have to read. Fests, campus surroundings, and everything are great. There are a lot of opportunities for you and many types of extracurricular activities are going on continuously.

There's a ground where you can play football, hockey, and cricket. There's a basketball court, badminton court, gym, and a huge auditorium.
Faculty: Most faculty members are pass-outs of this college and retire as chief engineers. They have experience onboard. They help us a lot in gaining knowledge about harsh conditions onboard ships.
