Placements: If you don't have arrears at the time of placements, then there is 90% of probability to get placed. The off-campus placement option is also available for students because the alumni network of our college is strong. If you study well, then you will get placed well.

Here the placement starts from 3rd year and the world prestigious companies come in our college such NYK, M.Sc. Placements: In our batch, the strength is 220 and the placements in our college are very good. Nearly 80% of students, including on-campus and off-campus, are placed. In our college, there is only one branch,i.e., marine engineering, and Its placement rate is above 80%, including on-campus and off-campus. Placements: Placement percentage was around 50-60%. Major companies which visited the campus were Nyk Ship Management, Fleet Management, Shipping Corporation of India and Mediterranean Shipping Company. Salaries offered were ranged from Rs.10,000 to 30,000 per month based on the rank of trainee engineers. Placement cell is efficient in inviting new companies.

Placements: Placement scenario of the college is good for those who study well and get good ranks. You should have a good rank in your batch to get a placement. Mostly all shipping companies visit the campus for placements. From NYK to Chevron, visit the campus for placements. Overall the placement rate is about 85%.

Placements: Our college stands in the list of top 5 colleges among all IITs in terms of placements. In the previous year, the highest package offered for B.Tech students was about 1.50 crore per annum. The average package offered to electrical students is good, around 20 LPA. The average package offered is 20 LPA by an MNC. This year, the highest package offered to my course was 1.8 crore per annum for 3 students. Overall, the placements in our college were very good.

Placements: Around 150 students out of 200 who don't have any backlogs got placed until 7th semester from the college. Rest of the students are looking for placements in the 8th semester. You should clear all semesters without having backlogs to get placed from the campus. Around 50 students from our batch have backlogs.

Placements: Earlier, this college was named DMET. From the reference of DMET, many companies visited the campus for placements. So till 2008, placements in IMU Kolkata were outstanding, and even 100% placements were guaranteed. But nowadays, placements are not good, and only 75% of the students are placed. From our batch, around 140 out of 239 students were placed through campus placements, and the rest got placed through off-campus placement drives.

Placements: You will be recruited by the companies if you study well and have good communication skills. The college provides 100% placements. It is the world's second marine engineering college and the best in India. So, there is no reason for you not to get placed. DMET is not a college, rather is a brand. We have a huge workshop, and I think it is the largest workshop in India for a marine engineering institute.
