Review of Southern Academy of Maritime Studies.

Placements: SAMS College was good for students who had sponsorship on a DNS course. It is better to choose another marine college.

Absolutely satisfied with teaching quality and peaceful campus surroundings.

Placements: In our college about 70% of students are placed in many streams like MBA and Nautical Field. The average salary offered at IMU is 7 lac per annum with the highest package offered being 12 lac per annum and the lowest is 5.5 lac. The top recruiting companies are M.Sc. Anglo Eastern, Torm, Synergy, BHM and many more. Many students have got opportunity to do their internships from Mumbai port. After our course we can enter in to shipping field as captain.

Absolutely a fantastic college for those who pursue marine field.

Placements: This college provides good quality education, so various international shipping companies come to take our cadets. Companies like Mediterranean Shipping Company, Anglo-Eastern Shipping company, Seven Islands, Thom, etc. visit our campus for recruitment.

I hope we will get placed this year.

Placements: Some common companies will come every year. Getting placed is all about your performance. Administration helps the alumni also in getting placed. It is all about faith and hope. The HOD, Capt. Vinod Naveen, plays a crucial role in placements.

Satisfied and the college is improving. Looking forward to it.

Placements: The college is trying to give maximum placements. For the previous semester, placement is going on. Many companies like M.Sc. 7 islands, Anglo-Eastern. In senior batches almost all got placement. As the college started recently it is becoming popular. The facilities are helping in finding placements.

Review of Southern Academy of Maritime Studies.

Placements: There are no placements from this college. During admissions, they lie about companies that would select you after your course. The staff will lie to you until you are convinced to take admission here. In the end, they would ask you to pay 5 Lacs for placements in some poor companies.

It is a very good college to learn many things for the future.

Placements: Around 40% of the students got placed in our batch. The highest salary offered in our course was Rs. 20,000 per month. None of the top companies visits our college. I paid around 3 lacs for a GP rating course, and no extra fees were charged. Around 50% of the students got an internship with Ships and Nautilus Shipping.

Overall, the college is good. The only problem is with placements.

Placements: Ours is the first batch of B.Sc. nautical science, so we don't have seniors. Till now, 2 students got placed out of 25. Companies like Synergy, Dockendale, etc., are visiting the campus. In the maritime field, only the stipend is offered, not salary. There is no placement cell in the college.

Review of IMU - IMU Kochi Indian Maritime University.

Placements: Placements depend on our faculty members. They will offer placements to their favourite students rather than considering the academic performance. But you can always find jobs by yourselves rather than depending on the college. The college doesn't have a specific placement cell for placing students. However, we have informed about this issue to our officials several times.

Infrastructure is really good. Faculty members are very nice.

Placements: I am from the first batch of B.Sc nautical science. However, the college doesn't provide any placements. It is trying to invite companies. B.Sc nautical science department was started in 2016. There are chances of getting placed as the college is trying to contact companies, and the college has sent our resumes too.

It is a good college if you are interested in merchant navy.

Placements: Since I'm from the first batch of this course, there are no previous placement records to show. But, the only response we got about placements is that they are not very good as the expectations from the college administration are high. The college has also assured to provide maximum placements to the deserving candidates. As the university provides STCW courses, placement procedure will hopefully begin after that.

Our college has a good infrastructure and friendly environment on the campus.

Placements: The placement details of the last batches are not available because nautical science was started in Kochi Campus in 2016. When we talked to the faculty members, they said that all efforts would be put into the placements of students. Like all the other IMU campuses, 10% of the students get placements for sure.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty good placements and really good infrastructure.

Placements: Here the placements are good and better as compared to other colleges and universities. The infrastructure of the college is also good and here the students develop the qualities of merchant navy captain and also different shipping companies comes to our university for the placements of the students.

An honest review on Southern Academy of Maritime Studies.

Placements: There are no placements in our college. DNS is a sponsored course, but you can join this college without being sponsored, as this college doesn't follow the rules. So, they will take an extra amount and will give you a seat for doing DNS in this college. After the completion of your course, if you clear all the subjects, then they will ask you for 4-5 lakhs as a fee for placements as a deck cadet in ships. They will provide placements by taking money.

The review of Indian Maritime University, Kochi.

Placements: According to placement, this institute is just lacking for international connection. Because of Kochi port nearby, they are getting some benefits of studying there. When you are looking for a college to join, then this is the best in Kochi. Rather than private, this college holds a better position.

Dissatisfied because of campus space but other things are good.

Placements: I am not sure about the placements because this course was started with us. But, there is a placement cell for providing the placements. So, we can say that placements are okay as the college is working for placements. I can't say about placements, but it will take place.

The worse place to stay no security, irresponsible staffs, management is on paper only.

Placements: There is nothing like placement in this college. There is an agent named Wainktess, and he may give you ship instead of money. He asked me nine lakhs for that, so better to be on your own. On admission time they may show you sponsor letter, but all of them are fake there is no any sponsorship and placement is also nill, so better to carry own sponsor.

Good for GP, other than that, don't take admission here.

Placements: There is no placement on the college campus. They charge five Lacs for placements, and they have to wait for the student to get on a ship. There is no proper placement cell. No proper preparation for the interview. The faculty do not help in preparing. They only want money, nothing else.

Fully satisfied with the faculty. Other than the faculty, everything is below average.

Placements: First of all, if you need placement from college, you should not head to this college, because this institute is very poor in the placements. And, if you can pay money other than college fee, then you will get placements in a good company. Also, as this is a marine college, nowadays placements are done only in few colleges. And the main thing, if you have a sponsor from a company and have the choice of selecting the college, then you can select this because of the perfect faculty present here.
