KMAT Kerala eligibility criteria provides details regarding the age, domicile and educational qualification that the aspirants need to fulfil before appearing for the KMAT Kerala exam. KMAT Kerala is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations under the supervision of the Admission Supervisory Committee. 

KMAT Kerala application process started on February 1, 2025, for the first session exam. Aspirants must check the KMAT Kerala eligibility criteria before filling out the KMAT Kerala application form 2025 to ensure whether they are eligible to appear for the exam. Applicant’s eligibility will be checked at the time of admission, and if they are found ineligible, they will not be offered admission.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria of KMAT Kerala exam?

A:

The eligibility criteria for KMAT (Kerala Management Admission Test) are as follows:

  1. The candidates should be Indian citizens.

  2. The candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The minimum duration of the degree programme should be three years.

  3. The general category candidates should have secured at least 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination. For SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) and SC/ST (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe) category candidates, the minimum required aggregate is 40%.

  4. Candidates who are appearing for the final year of their bachelor's degree examination are also eligible to apply. However, they must provide proof of qualifying the examination with the required percentage of marks at the time of admission.

Q:   What are the passing marks for KMAT Kerala?

A:

If you're a General/SEBC candidate, you need at least 72 marks out of 720 (10%) in KMAT Kerala to pass. But if you're from SC/ST/PWD category, you should get 54 marks (7.5%) to qualify. Only the aspirants who score above this criteria will be eligible for admission to the KMAT Kerala partiipating colleges. Candidates who are aspiring admission to top MBA colleges in Kerala must ensure that they meet the qualifying cutoff criteria in order to secure a seat and be eligible for the admission process. The admission completely depends on the total number of seats available in the college. 

Q:   Is there any age limit to appear for the KMAT Kerala exam?

A:

According to the KMAT Kerala eligibility criteria, there is no upper or lower age limit prescribed by the KMAT Kerala exam conducting authority. Candidates of all ages can appear for the KMAT Kerala exam. However, they must fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must have completed their graduation (three-year bachelor's degree) from a recognised university in any discipline. 

  • Candidates must have obtained the stipulated aggregate of all subjects by respective universities that they wish to apply to in their final year qualifying degree exam.

  • Candidates who are in the final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply, however, they must provide their Graduation certificate at the time of admission as proof of qualification.

  • Candidates in the final year of their graduation are also eligible to apply.

  • Any graduate with three years of bachelor’s degree from a UGC recognised university can apply for KMAT Kerala.
  • Final year graduation students can also apply provisionally.
  • Candidates must secure the minimum aggregate in the qualifying exam prescribed by the examination authority.

Work experience

KMAT Kerala exam eligibility criteria do not include work experience. Both working and non-working applicants can apply for the exam

Number of attempts

KMAT Kerala is conducted multiple times a year. The score of the latest KMAT Kerala exam will be considered for admission.

Q:   Is there any fee concession in KMAT Kerala?

A:

KMAT Kerala 2025 application form will likely be released in the last week of January 2025. The KMAT Kerala application fee is INR 1000 for all courses. But, the candidates who belong to SC and ST categories are eligible to avail a fee concession. Candidates belonging to the SC category need to pay an application fee of INR 500. Candidates belonging to the ST category do not have to pay any application fee. The candidates applying for the KMAT Kerala exam can pay the application fee online, through internet banking, credit card, debit card or UPI. They can also pay the KMAT Kerala application fee through e-Challan by clicking on the “Print e-Challan” tab while paying the application fee. Payment can be made in cash at any head or sub-post office in Kerala.
