JMI has a very good academic oriented environment.
Placements: BA Political Science Hons. is not a course where you would get a direct placement. Although if you do some field work, internship or a foreign language part time course, you would increase your chances of getting a placement. Political Science Hons. Students could also work for international organizations like UN, Red Cross, if they accompany their degree with some part time internships.
Infrastructure: Political Science department is in front of the Gulistan-e-Ghalib at GATE no. 7 of Jamia. The course has a dedicated department which offers other courses like, M.A. political Science, public administration, human rights, international affairs. Being in the university, plenty of infrastructure is available for classes, like New Teaching Block (NTB), New Science Block (NSB), Social Science Block (SSB), where classes for various papers are taken. The Zakir Hussain Central Library is a huge book collection centre, a few steps from the department. The department has its own library and reading hall too. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, which you can access by registering on the official portal.
Faculty: Faculty in the Political Science department and overall Faculty of Social Sciences is highly qualified and selectively recruited one. The core department papers are combined with a subsidiary paper which you would for 3 years, CBCS which changes every semester, along with two languages and IRC/Islamiyat/ HRC paper which you have to study for a year. Semester exams have a moderate to hard difficulty level, with a decent good pass percentage.
Other: Political Science Hons. is a good course for those interested in political evolution and to understand the concurrent events and global geopolitical issues.

Good place but no campus life.
Placements: Not very good placement in my course, political Science is a very good and competent course in jamia but you'll not get any placement. Overall you will have good knowledge over what are you studying but you will not get any monetary support in the course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good in the campus, the classes are good and overall everything is good here but still the authorities and the management have to do more work as they need to upgrade everything in the campus in the class in the building and everything .
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and we have top class facilities of the country who are from top universities of the world. Semester exams are not that difficult but still they are good enough to check your overall capabilities. I myself secured 8.4 in my last semester .
Other: I chose this course because I was very much interested in studying the society around me, the best thing about the course is what we study about philosophers and it's interpretation of the world. There are very little or no events in the campus.

Even being an A+++ University, Jamia Millia Islamia has its own defects.
Placements: As our course is mostly an academic course, they do not provide any placement guarantee. There are no campus placement drives usually conducted on campus. There are no particular companies, especially any commercials, which need us for their running other than any policy-research or political research-related centres for assisting their research work.
Infrastructure: Our entire campus has wifi facilities, with exception in some distant gates. Our department has only limited number of classrooms for lectures, but there are enough lecture buildings separate for the same. We have one seminar room, but it is not that spacious, even to accommodate 50 people at a time. About the hostel facility, there is a good amount of hostel availability for both boys and girls. But a lot of complaints have been constantly raised on the food quality, lift facility, gym openings, discrimination against girls, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are all qualified and efficient in conveying their areas of interest. But the syllabuses are a lot conventional compared to the world-class institutions. Semester exams usually are not that difficult and are crackable with ease even if you do some last-day preparations.
Other: I chose this course because of the interest I particularly felt towards the content of the subject. The campus witnessed some kind of mega event, mostly as part of the Jamia Foundation day. And also, some of the big communities in the university also conduct some kind of fair every year. Otherwise, it's only the usual freshers, farewell parties, ethnic day and so on.

Extremely satisfied with my university, but not with the placements here.
Placements: Though placement drive isn't available in university, the placement cell can help in getting jobs for postgraduates. That's a very big issue in Jamia Millia Islamia that placements are only available for engineering and MBA but not for BA honours students. I hope management will do something about it.
Infrastructure: Th infrastructure of the university is really impressive. The library is well-equipped and fully digital. Various air-conditioned reading halls are there which have feasible opening and closing timings. Also, hostels are really good, and we have almost 20 canteens in our classroom. The full campus is Wi-Fi zone. The labs and classrooms are also well-equipped.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and really punctual. The administration is little weak and slow, but the faculty is good. Unlike some colleges, our classes take place regularly. Both theoretical and practical knowledge is delivered, and something that makes them special is the attitude towards students which is really nice.
Other: Every department has fests and one common fest known as Miraas. Also, Talimi Mela annual foundation day is celebrated. It is well connected by metro and by road. Being a minority institution, you can get 50% reservation if you're Muslim. Also, the scholarship is available for minorities. The regular event takes place, and if you're in Jamia Millia Islamia, you'll get a great environment for UPSC preparation.

Average life in Jamia Millia Islamia.
Placements: There is no placement in my course. It depends on self-growth. There is no package. No companies are coming for my course. We are usually preparing for government jobs. We can get internships by applying ourselves, but they are not provided by the university. We can do a master's, prepare for government exams, and pursue a PhD in our respective fields.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is very nice. There is a well-managed garden and playground in the university. Library and Wi-Fi facilities are available 24 hours. Canteen and mess facilities are also available, and mess food is average. Medical facilities are available in the university, along with a sports complex.
Faculty: The faculty is very nice, well-educated, good, and very helpful. But, course curriculum is outdated and old, which does not provide the skills that we need. There is nothing industry-ready in my course. The difficulty level of semester exams is moderate. If students want to score average marks, they can easily do so. But if students want to score good marks, they have to study very well. The percentage of passing is 40.
Other: There is a good environment for preparing for government exams like UPSC, CSE, CHAL, etc. The location of the university is very good, and many events occur at the university. We can also participate in extracurricular activities. But scholarship facilities are not provided by the university.
