Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam (JNUEE) exam will be conducted from May 11 to May 14, 2020. JNUEE along with JNU CEEB will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), this year. Till 2018, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) conducted both JNUEE and JNU CEEB exams. The JNUEE application forms will be released on the official website of the university on March 2, 2020 and the last date of submitting the application form is till March 31, 2020. The JNUEE 2020 admit cards will be released on April 21, 2020.

What is JNUEE (JNUET)?
The Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam (JNUEE), which is now known as JNUET, is conducted to offer admission to aspirants in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the university. While filling the application form for JNU admissions aspirants can opt to appear in the entrance test for a maximum of three courses in order of their preference. Since the seats available for admission in programmes offered at JNU is limited, aspirants are shortlisted for admission basis their performance in Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam (JNUEE) as well as viva-voce.
As per the official website of NTA, a total of 1,16,558 candidates registered for both, JNU Entrance Exam and JNU CEEB last year. Further, sources shared that a total of 1,05,000 candidates appeared for JNUEE 2019 exam in order to secure admission in 131 courses.
JNUEE 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the JNUEE (JNUET) 2020 entrance exam, candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling and submitting the form. The Jawaharlal Nehru University offers a wide variety of courses, where each course’s eligibility criteria is different than the other.
The eligibility criteria is different for each programme which is offered by the university. For all courses as per schools, have different eligibility criteria. The general eligibility criteria as set by the University for the Entrance Exam is a graduation degree having secured a minimum 55% marks.

JNUEE 2020 Admission Process
Candidates who want to appear for the JNUEE entrance exam, have to follow the steps as mentioned below.
Step 1: Registration
To fill the JNUEE application form, candidates are required to register themselves. Aspirants will have to login on the official website of the official university. The candidates will have to fill in the required details.

Once all the details are filled in, candidates can confirm the password and enter register. From there on, the candidate can visit the home page of the website to log in and apply for the JNUEE entrance exam.
Step 2: Fill JNUEE Application Form
Aspirants can fill JNU entrance exam application form in either of the modes – online or offline. Candidates can mention up to three fields of study in the same JNUEE application form in order of preference. If any aspirant submits more than one application form for JNU admissions at the same programme level then their candidature would stand cancelled. But this rule does not apply to candidates who have applied for admission in the below mentioned programmes:
- JRF holder candidates who have applied for admission in Science Schools under "JRF category" for admission to MPhil/PhD or Pre-PhD/PhD through viva-voce exam in addition to admission through entrance examination
- Aspirants who have applied for direct admission to PhD programme.
Application process for aspirants would only be considered complete when they have filled all the information in the JNUEE application form and also affixed their recent passport size photograph, signed in the space marked for signature and paid the exam fee. Application fee for JNUEE 2020 can be paid by Demand Draft which is drawn in favour of Jawaharlal Nehru University and is payable at New Delhi.
Step 3: Download JNUEE Admit Card
Candidates need to download JNUEE 2020 admit card from the official website of Jawaharlal Nehru University. The admit card can be downloaded by filling in their application number or name and date of birth. Aspirants need to carry a copy of JNUEE admit card to their exam centre with their latest passport size photograph.
Step 4: Appear for JNUEE Exam
Aspirants need to appear for Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam as per the date, time and venue mentioned on their admit card. JNUEE is of three hours duration and contains questions related to the course for which aspirants have applied for admission.
Step 5: Check JNUEE Result
Candidates can check their result for JNUEE on the official website of Jawaharlal Nehru University by filling in details such as their programme of study, field of study and application number/registration number.
Step 6: Appear for Viva-Voce
In most of the courses offered at Jawaharlal Nehru University, admission is offered on the basis of an aspirant’s performance in JNUEE exam. However, in some courses candidates who have been shortlisted for admission basis their performance in Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Exam need to further appear for viva-voce round. Admission in these courses is offered to candidates on the basis of their performance in both the entrance exam as well as the viva-voce round. Travel Concession for Viva-Voce
JNU invites candidates to take part in viva-voce after clearing the written entrance exams. For the viva-voce if candidates are travelling from different cities then the central university pays second class railway fare, both ways (round trip) by the shortest route from the place from where candidates are travelling for the viva-voce that is, mailing address given in the Application Form. However, this fee is paid for a distance that is covered above 300 kms and here candidates need to produce a valid train ticket. The official website informs: “The fare for the first 300 kms.each way shall be borne by the candidates themselves. Candidates wishing to claim reimbursement of fare are advised to retain with them Train/Bus ticket(s). Candidates invited to viva- voce from a distance of less than 300 kms, including local ones shall not be reimbursed Train/Bus fare under any circumstances”.
Step 7: Check JNU Final Merit List
The final merit list for JNU admissions is released on the official website of the varsity. Candidates can check their result by filling details such as their programme of study, field of study and application number/registration number.
