B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2028
Offered by NIT Surathkal - National Institute of Technology

Review of NITK surathkal .
Placements: In my course, 92% of students got placed this year, of which one got the highest package of 30 LPA. The lowest package was also not that bad, it was 8 LPA, and the average was 13 LPA. Top recruiters were Ola, Uber, Deloitte, Wells Fargo, Reliance, ONGC, etc. 70% of students got internships. The roles that were offered were Manager and Tech Department Expert.
Infrastructure: Internet speed is one of the best things you will get here; it’s almost 1000mb/s. I know it’s somehow tough to believe, but it’s true. And what should I say about the infrastructure? It’s the best—marvelous, lush green campus, and it’s really mesmerizing. Hostel facilities are also very good. You will get a very nice and clean room, and there will be everything you need in your room. There will also be a common room.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers were really helpful and friendly. They are well-qualified for the course they are teaching, and they even have their own research experience. Many professors have patents for their research and they are still working on some of their research. Yes, this course is relevant to my future job. It will really help in my future. Semester exams are medium in toughness. The passing percentage is almost 35%.
Other: I chose this course to get into this college. There is no such restriction to go into your core field; you can find your future in whichever field you want to. No, there is nothing to be improved, it’s really the best. Events are really amazing; the ones that happen here are really impressive. The fests of my college are really popular, and many well-known faces are invited, such as Sunidhi Chauhan, Vishal Dadlani, and Vivek Samtani.

B.Sc. (Psychology, Rehabilitation Science, Sociology) - Batch of 2025
Offered by St. Anne's Degree College for Women
2.6

Average satisfaction because of faculty, placement, internships and good infrastructure.
Placements: Placement is not good in the B.Sc. rehabilitation science, psychology, and sociology department; according to my knowledge, there is 0 placement, but other departments like B.Com. and BCA have average placement. Students from abroad join our college too; it's really a good opportunity to explore and learn a lot.
Infrastructure: Honesty, I wish I could give 0 stars. There are CCTV's everywhere, and the library has course books and novels that are very useful. Other than that, nothing is good about this college. I've been to the lab only in the 1st year; after that, they don't take us to the lab, and practical exposure is very poor. There is NO HOSTEL, and the canteen is affordable, and timings have to be followed. The quality of the food is above average. One very good quality of this college is they help students who need help with the midday meal program (school block as well as college block).
Faculty: It depends on the individual lecturers; some are really good and some just take class for the sake of taking class; no proper internship for psychology; for rehabilitation science, an industrial visit; and 2 internships are provided. Semester exams are quite easy; the pass percentage in our department is around 95-97%. If you are a person who totally depends on faculty, then this college isn't for you. Self-study plays an important role in any college.
Other: This course is one of the best courses that has scope abroad as well as in India. This course teaches various aspects of human mind and body; this is a very necessary course for future India. Campus life was amazing; we have many festivals and intercollegiate competitions and sports meets, awareness programs, inclusive education, and lots of volunteer work that is truly enjoyed by students and facilities. The other departments have the best teachers, placements, and internships. As our department is a growing field right now, placement and internship opportunities are a bit less.

B.A. (History, Economics, Hindi) - Batch of 2025
Offered by Maharaja's College, University of Mysore
3.4
2Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
The best thing in the college is the faculty and the infrastructure.
Placements: My course is basically one of the highest opting courses in B.A. History, also optional Hindi. More than 100 students are present in our class. The college does not support any direct placement, but they do prepare us for all types of placements. Like 50k to 2 lakh is given to students aiming to become a teacher, and some people are preparing themselves for the UPSC exam. Any private or government college & schools recruit the faculty. A very decent number of students have become lecturers and teachers. Roles include tutor, teacher, IAS.
Infrastructure: There's no Wi-Fi connection in the college premises. The department is good; they do provide basic necessities. Labs are clean and hygienic. Classrooms look very good. Since the college is very old, it has its own charm. The infrastructure is quite impressive. The canteen is permanently close. Hostel food is not that great. A medical center is available inside the college premises, and they provide good treatment. Sports and games are also highly encouraged here.
Faculty: Teachers are really well qualified. They do teach us well with the given topic. The only issue is the commencement of the course; they delay it so much, and the syllabus keeps expanding. They conduct tests and seminars where they listen to and correct us, which helps us to build our confidence. The semester exams are average, neither tough nor easy. The passing percentage is 85-90%.
Other: Well, my ambition was to become a Hindi teacher, so I was looking for a college that provides my course with the minimum fees. The best thing was I really got good lecturers who helped me through the entire course. It would have been better if they took the classes regularly. Events like dancing, singing, essay writing, debate, speech, etc. Fresher's Day & Annual Day are the big events. Scholarships are given to SC/ST. More than 1000 students study here, and the majority are boys.

B.Tech. in Mining Engineering - Batch of 2028
Offered by NIT Surathkal - National Institute of Technology
3.8
4Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Life of an average student at NITK
Placements: In my branch, which is Mining, around 90% of students get placed out of those who registered. In my course, the highest package was 30 LPA, while the average package was 12 LPA. I am not sure about the lowest package, but it may be 7 LPA. For Mining particularly, there is Coal India, Bharat Petroleum, etc. But many students got placed in tech companies based on their skills and CGPA. To sit for tech company interviews, core students must have a CGPA greater than 9. Around 30% of students are going to do internships in top companies like Coal India.
Infrastructure: For 1st-year students, there is a special building called 'CIDS' where all 1st-year classes are held. For Mining, a special building is situated near the main building, and Wi-Fi is available in all the departments 24/7. Labs are well-structured, and the instruments are of good quality. If we talk about the hostel, there are 4 boys' hostels and 2 girls' hostels. The food has an average taste, but you can at least survive by eating it. If you are from the North, you may have some problems at first, but it will be fixed as time goes on. There is also a night canteen where you can order food.
Faculty: Professors are very polite and helpful, especially for 1st-year students who are not yet familiar with everything in college. All professors are well-educated. One has done her Ph.D. from ISC Bangalore, one is from IIT Bombay, one is from NITK, and so many other well-educated professors are here. For 1st-year students, all branches must learn all subjects. For example, I am from Mining, but currently, I am learning Python. If we talk about industry relevance, it is definitely relevant but not 100%. Many old strategies are still used. NITK Maths papers are famous in all NITs. Passing CGPA is 5.
Other: I didn’t choose this course; I chose this college because I am more interested in the tech field. After doing much research, I concluded that NITK’s curriculum is very good for programming. I didn’t choose CSE in a tier 1 or tier 2 college, and I didn’t want to go to a tier 3 college, so I chose NITK’s lower branch. There are two annual events: Engineer and Incident. Other events are also held. The campus does not have too much crowd. The bond between seniors and freshers is very good. Many extra activities are available, like swimming, gym, and sports.

Don't fall for fake marketing.
Placements: The worst placement I have enrolled with is the Business Analytics course, and there are no jobs related to the role. Our placement cell has some policies which force us to give interviews for roles we don't even know about. It's November, and only 2/35 people are placed till today.
Infrastructure: Course structure is undoubtedly up-to-date; it teaches you everything you want to know, but there are a few subjects and classes which are useless and forcefully added to your course. These don't have any connection with your corporate life, which sometimes makes the syllabus lengthy and creates unnecessary pressure on students.
Faculty: Faculty are good; some of them have well-driven knowledge as well as well-experienced corporate experience. You can relate to the faculty and do various extra activities like research papers and others. Faculty members help you with that, but there are a few faculty members who seem to be very rigid, and they seriously don't care about you.
