M.Tech. in Structural Engineering - Batch of 2018
Offered by NIT Durgapur - National Institute of Technology

2Placements3Infrastructure2Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Dirty departmental politics are harmful for students, bad placements in 2018.
Placements: To be very frank, there are no campus placements for our batch. 1-2 universities like C. V. Raman, S. R. Patel etc., come every year for the first round of interview and for the next rounds, students must go to their campus. 3-4 seniors were placed like this, and still, now no one got placed from our batch. The salary offered by these universities were as per the AICTE pay scale. By the way, there is a huge scope for undergraduate students for internships and 50% students got the internships every year. There is a placement cell in the institute.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, but there is a scope to improve the classrooms. Hostel rooms are not satisfactory for undergraduate and postgraduate level students. Food quality is good in the canteen, but the cost is high enough. In sports, there is lack of light in the ground to play sports at evening.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are busy in dirty politics all the time, and the students are paying the price. Except 2-3 teachers, all have very less technical knowledge and not helpful at all. The teaching methods are also boring and conventional. Student to faculty ratio is 6:1 approximately. No, industry exposure and extracurricular activities in the civil engineering department. I think, the course curriculum is not exactly serving the purpose.
Other: All the events are organised systematically. Connectivity and campus surroundings are good. The institution also provides the scholarships.
