    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Here's the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.E./B.Tech programs at NEHU Shillong:

Overall Effectiveness: Mixed reviews from students and alumni suggest that the placement cell could improve its performance.

    Positive Feedback:

    * "Many companies come to our campus for placements. Almost 20 companies came this year." - Student
    * "Around 40-50% of students got placed during my time." - Alumni
    * "The placement cell does exist, and the placement head is our Dean, Prof. Goutam Saha." - Faculty member

    Negative Feedback:

    * "None of the students was placed last year. No company visited the campus." - Student
    * "Only 20-30% of students got placed, most of whom went through off-campus drives." - Student
    * "Placements are pathetic, to be honest. Few companies visit, and only a few departments get priority." - Student

    Common Themes:

    * While some students and alumni reported positive experiences with the placement cell, others expressed disappointment and frustration due to low placement rates and limited opportunities.
    * Lack of responsiveness from the career counseling cell office staff was mentioned by several students.
    * Limited recruitment of companies for certain departments, particularly BME, was highlighted as a concern.

In conclusion, while the placement cell appears to make efforts to attract companies and place students, further improvement is needed to enhance the overall experience for students.

We don't have a department library so this is a dissatisfied part. But overall experience is good.
Placements: Almost 70% of students have gotten placement and 30% doing further studies. The highest package, in my knowledge, is 9.6 LPA. 100% students got internships in hospital and companies like mindray, Philips, etc. top roles offered in my course are service and sales engineer, maintenance engineer, and design engineer .
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi facilities in our hostels and departments. Lab rooms are also there, and there are many pieces of equipment. All the classrooms have projectors and smart boards. The hostel food is quite good. Medical facilities like ambulances and one health centre are also available at our university. For sports, there is a football field, a basketball court, a cricket field, and a volleyball field at our university.
Faculty: Teachers are very knowledgeable at our university. They have done their post-graduation and Ph.D. from IIT and NIT. They provide us with learning materials that are very helpful for preparing for our exams. They teach us very well. We have a common hall for all the engineering departments where we all give exams together. Two facilities from each department will be present as examination guards.

I do not like this college because they do not provide placement facilities.
Placements: Around 40 percent of students were placed in our course. The highest package is 10.8 lakhs per annum and the lowest package is 2.3 lakhs per annum, with an average package of 6.5 lakhs per annum. The top recruiting companies for our course are Infosys, Cognizant, and EY Global Delivery Service. Total 60 percent of students got internships in Infosys, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities available in our college are not that good, but the infrastructure is good. They provide poor Wi-Fi facilities, classrooms, labs, and a library with all necessary books. The hostel is not great, but they provide food facilities with a clean mess. They also offer medical facilities in emergencies and provide sports and games equipment.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable, and they help us in learning more and more. Our subjects are curriculum relevant, which helps in being industry-ready. The semesters are difficult, and we cannot pass easily, but it is possible to pass. The passing percentage is 40 percent.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of poor placements, great campus life, good infrastructures.
Placements: There were no students placed from our department in the year 2023. Only none company came, that is Capgemini. Very very poor placements. If you ever take admission, please do not rely on the university for placements. Very poor placement arrangements are made here.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructures are really good. You have good wifi connections everywhere to Which you can access through your own personal ids. Library is the best. Great facilities there. Hostels are also good. But the food from the mess is very very poor.
Faculty: The teachers are quite helpful. But the teaching quality here differs from teacher to teacher. In understood some subjects very well where as there were very easy subjects that I could nit understand in the Class. I had to study on my own Only then I understood.
Other: There are always lots and lots of festivals and occasions and dj nights and prom nights... The campus life is great there.

It's a nice college with the best placements.
Placements: There are around 250 students in our batch. The average package provided is 8LPA. Our course provides the best and most updated concepts, along with the latest testing and analysis methods. The top roles offered are Tester and Analyzer. Around 75% of students take internships.
Infrastructure: The labs have good computers. The classrooms are clean and have good lighting effects. The infrastructure of the college is nice. A student has all the facilities they need in a college and hostel. There are air-conditioned classrooms, Wi-Fi services, and a library with proper book facilities. There is a mess, canteen, and a Maggi hotspot for food facilities.
Faculty: Our NEUT teachers have many Ph.D. holders who are very experienced. The professors are highly educated and have practical and theoretical knowledge. The curriculum is updated according to the changes. The teachers are very knowledgeable and kind, providing knowledge of the latest technologies.

Well maintained infrastructure with a beautiful campus and a mesmerizing weather.
Placements: The placements at this college are doubtful, yet it provides far better placements for the graduates. The placements vary from course to course and department to department; for departments like IT, the average package is 5-7 LPA and the highest goes up to 20 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college is very large, with about 1225 acres and sufficient buildings for each and every department where learners can study and do their field of interest. The hostel fees are very budget friendly and since it is a government-funded institute, the fees are also accommodating.
Faculty: The faculty team is highly cooperative and friendly in nature; they have a positive attitude while teaching and have the ability to make topics easier. The semester exams are easy to pass, depending on the department and course. The passing criteria is very simple: get 40% marks, including assignments, tests, and final exams.
Other: My course is information technology. I chose this department because my field of interest is in it, and you get a good amount of placement opportunities in this department. Fests include DJ nights, Novae Fiesta, Masquerade party, etc.

"Good Infrastructure and Facilities, Relevant Curriculum, and Vibrant Campus Life"
Placements: In my course, 30% of students were successfully placed. The highest salary package offered was ?10 lakhs per annum, while the lowest was ?2.5 lakhs per annum. One of the top recruiting companies was AOD Biomedical Service Pvt Limited. Unfortunately, only 10% of students secured internships, though the specific companies are not known to me. The top roles offered to graduates included Lead Engineer and Assistant Engineer.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for our course and department are decent and affordable, featuring well-constructed buildings. We have access to high-speed Wi-Fi, fully equipped labs, digital classrooms, and a large library with all necessary amenities. The quality of facilities in the hostel is similarly satisfactory. The food quality in the mess and canteen is decent and adjustable, maintaining proper hygiene standards and offering a variety of options. Additionally, the hostel is well-facilitated to ensure a comfortable living experience.
Faculty: The teachers in our course were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, contributing to a good teaching quality overall. The course curriculum is relevant and well-prepared, aiming to make students industry-ready. Semester exams at this college are reasonably challenging but fair, with a decent pass percentage, reflecting the effectiveness of the teaching and curriculum.
Other: I chose this course because it was convenient for me, especially since I had already completed a diploma in a related field. The best things about this course are its combination of both medical and engineering aspects, particularly focusing on medical instruments. The campus life is vibrant, with events like the Varsity Feast, concerts, and various other cultural events. The campus itself is beautiful, offering stunning views of Shillong. Additionally, the university organizes workshops and other events, and there are scholarship opportunities available for students. One thing I wish could be improved is the integration of more industry-specific training to further enhance our readiness for the professional world.
