PU-CET (PG) counselling: PU-CET (PG) 2024 result was announced on July 17, 2024. Panjab University is conducting the counselling for the candidates listed after the announcement of the PU-CET(PG) result. A merit list will be prepared based on the candidate’s score in PU-CET 2024 exam, Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. The varsity will conduct the counselling in multiple rounds subject to the availability of seats. All the candidates whose names appear on the  Merit List shall have to appear in person, on the notified date of counselling. The PU-CET (PG) admission process was an offline one and the candidates who qualified the PU-CET (PG) exam 2024, had to fill out the CET admission form 2024 by July 24, 2024.

Q:   How can I prepare for the subsequent rounds of the PU-CET (PG) admission process?

A:

PU-CET (PG) results were announced on July 17, 2024. The exam results are usually announced within three- five weeks of the PU-CET (PG) exam. If you meet the PU-CET (PG) cutoff, candidates need to prepare for the further admission process which includes GD and PI. To prepare for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI), you should focus on improving your communication skills, general knowledge, and awareness of current affairs. It's also advisable to practice answering commonly asked interview questions and participate in mock interviews.

PU-CET (PG) 2024: Admission Process

After clearing PU-CET (PG) exam, the candidate will have to fill up and submit an online Admission Form and has to meet the eligibility requirements of the course.

PU-CET (PG) 2024 Admission Process: Group Discussion

GD round accounts for 7.5% of the total weightage in the PU-CET (PG) final score. During Group Discussion, the examination panel will evaluate the candidate’s communication skills, understanding of the subject, leadership quality along other personality traits. Candidates will be given a topic or a hypothetical situation and will be asked to put forth their views on it.

PU-CET (PG) 2024 Admission Process: Personal Interview

GD round will be followed by a Personal Interview, which is held to assess the candidate's interpersonal skills, confidence level and knowledge about business industry. The institute will take into account the relevant work experience, academic record and extra-curricular activities of the candidate.

PU-CET (PG) 2024 Admission Process: Final Selection

Final selection will be based on the candidate’s overall performance in the entrance exam, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Q:   Is PU CET (PG) difficult?

A:

The difficulty level of the PU CET (PG) exam is generally considered to be easy to moderate. The exam pattern consists mostly of objective-type questions, such as multiple-choice questions, with a total duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. To prepare for the exam, candidates are generally advised to cover the entire syllabus for their subject and use the right study materials.

It's worth noting that the difficulty level of the PU CET (PG) exam may vary depending on various factors, such as the subject, the candidate's familiarity with the format, and their level of preparation. However, based on previous years' exam analysis, it can be said that the exam is not considered extremely difficult.

Q:   Can I appear for PU CET (PG) more than once?

A:

No, candidates cannot appear more than once for the PU-CET (PG) exam. The PU-CET (PG) exam is held only once a year. Candidates have to wait for the next session if they miss this year's exam. The PU-CET (PG) exam is being conducted in the PBT (paper-based test) mode. Based on the PU_CET (PG) scores, students can apply for admission to various programmes offered by PU-CET (PG) participating colleges. The exam will only be conducted in the paper-based test mode for all the sessions. The difficulty level of the PU-CET (PG) exam is usually easy and the candidates can easily prepare for this exam. Candidates who wish to appear for the PU-CET (PG) exam need to apply on the official website of Punjab University and fill out the PU-CET (PG) application form once the application window opens. PU-CET (PG) is held in about four test cities in the state of Punjab. Candidates have to visit the PU-CET (PG) exam centre in order to take the exam in offline mode or paper-based test mode.

Documents Required for PU-CET(PG) 2024 Counselling

Candidates must make sure that they carry their original documents at the time of counselling. Candidates need to carry the following documents: 

  • PU-CET (PG) 2024 rank card
  • Bachelor’s degree Mark sheet and Passing Certificate of class 10
  • Bachelor’s degree Mark sheet and Passing Certificate of class 12
  • Transfer or leaving certificate from the institute last attended
  • Migration Certificate
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Character certificate
  • 4 passport sized photographs
  • Medical Certificate

Important Points to Remember

  • The PU CET counselling schedule will be available on the official Panjab University website after the announcement of result.
  • The admission dates and reporting time will be mentioned in the merit list
  • Candidates are required to submit counselling fee either through online mode (credit card/ debit card/ net banking) or offline at the University.
  • If a candidate fails to report on time or pay the counselling fee, they will not be allowed to participate in the counselling process

  3. Unanswered Questions: As there is no negative marking for unanswered questions, candidates may choose to leave a question unanswered if they are unsure about the correct answer. 

  4. Total Score Calculation: The total score obtained by a candidate is calculated based on the number of correct answers and deductions (if any) for incorrect answers, as per the marking scheme specified for the exam.
