R V University is a private university , through seven schools of study offering UG, PG, PhD, and various courses to students.

RV University was formed quite recently in 2019. However, the sponsoring trust has had more than 80 years of experience in higher education. It is spread over 50 acres of greenery near a metro station of Bangalore purple lion called Pattangere. The university offers more than 30 different courses at undergraduate level and more than 15 post graduation courses along with facilities to do doctoral research on many topics. All of these undergraduate and postgraduate courses are distributed amongst 9 different schools that the University has formed for better administration. Among the different courses offered, there are many courses which are interdisciplinary and staff from more than one school are required to teach in these courses. 

The college itself claims that its BTech in Computer Sciences and MA are flagship courses. However, from the perspective of a student this is of no relevance. This is so because a student who wants to pursue his education in liberal studies will not be interested in engineering graduation and of course vice versa. Fundamentally speaking, which course out of these almost 50 courses that are run by this university for students is the best is almost impossible to determine because the best for a particular student may be the worst for another. It is for this reason that a student should refrain from finding out which is the best course that is offered by the University but rather concentrate on finding out which institution offers the course that the student desires and where it can be pursued depending on academics, placements, faculty etc.

The RV University CUET cutoff list for 2024 has not been specified in terms of date. Generally , all the  universities publish their cutoff lists right after the announcement of the CUET results. This year too , the CUET results are going to be declared in mid-2024 and accordingly, RV University ,  like all other participating institutions, will publish its cutoff based on student performance in the entrance test, availability of seats, and other factors.

The cutoff ranks for BSc program vary depending upon the program and entrance exam Scores.For RV University the cutoff is as follows:

BSc Agriculture: cutoff ranks ranges between 1000-1500

BSc Computer Science: cutoff ranks varies between 500-1000

BSc Biotechnology: cutoff ranks ranges between 1500-2000

The above mentioned ranks are meant for general category whereas the ranks may vary with 500 margin with respect to reservation category such as SC/ST/OBC.

However, based on the last year and trends of other entrance exams, KCET cut-offs for some popular courses like B.Tech in computer science engineering closes at ranks as low as 6163. General merit cutoff ranks for other courses during the previous years have ranged around 6911, to as high as 19,539. This means that the actual cutoff for CUET 2024 will depend upon the number of applicants, their scores, and the availability of seats.
