Candidates seeking admission to the SPA Delhi MPlan course must have a valid score in either of the accepted entrance exams - GATE, CEED, or UGC NET. However, students must note that the entrance test scores are not the deciding factor. The selection depends on various other factors too, including performance in the qualifying exam, a portfolio of work, personal interaction with faculty and/or a written test, interest and motivation for the chosen study, and work experience.

Candidates with a valid BPlan/BArch/or any other bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or organisation are eligible. In addition, the candidate should have studied the relevant subjects in the degree course as well. The aspirant shall have the pass certificates with them at the time of MPlan course admission as well for verification purposes.

The admission process for the SPA Delhi MPlan programme begins with the application process. Those who wish to apply can download the application form from the institute's official website. The application forms are also made available at the admission office. Students must fill out the required fields and submit the form at the school centre along with the application fees.

While allocating SPA Delhi MPlan seats, the admission committee takes the institute's reservation policy into consideration. As per the SPA Delhi reservation policy, a total of 39 seats are reserved for the admission of SC/ST category students. Out of which, 20 seats are reserved for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and 19 seats are reserved for the admission of ST category students. Moreover, 5% of seats are reserved for Physically Challenged Persons on a horizontal basis.

SPA Delhi was ranked in the fourth position by NIRF in the Architecture category. Hence, it tops many of the NITs except for NIT Calicut. Further, candidates who are applying for BArch and BPlan courses will be allotted seats basis their performance in JEE Main. For PG course admissions, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in the relevant field of study with 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST/OBC). For admission, a 99.30 or above percentile is considered good. Candidates can easily get admission with this percentile. Further, this also depends upon the scores of the students who have submitted the application for admission. The cutoff or percentile varies from one course to another.
