Great experience in my life.
Placements: Every year, the placements depend on the feedback of the previous year batch students. The placement are based on the performance of the students in the practical rather than the theory part. The roles like dietitian, management work, assistant counsellors, interior decorator, anthropology, etc. are offered. Companies like Britannia, Nestle, etc. visit for placements. All the students in the final year batch attend internship. Stipend is not provided because the internship for all the students is only for the experience.
Infrastructure: Home Science College and Research Institute is under the control of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. In Madurai, only Agricultural College and Home Science College is present. Our college has got a good infrastructure and excellent laboratory facilities. The lab for food and nutrition and human development has got teaching lab technician. There is creche running under the department of human development that provides enough children for the practical case study.
Faculty: The faculty members working in our college were very much helpful and skilful. Apart from their skills, they very very kind, cooperative, and easy going. They selected the teaching methods like chalk and talk, projector teaching. The course curriculum they select will be already scheduled based on time and season.
Other: I had a wonderful experience in my college. And most important is that I miss my days. There is got not only educational knowledge but also experience on culturals, sports, extracurricular activities like competitions within the hostel and between the hostels, etc.
