Good college but very expensive.
Placements: The computer engineering department has good placements. The highest salary package offered is 55 LPA. The average salary package offered is 12 LPA. About 50-60% of students get placed in good companies. Some even go for masters abroad. Top recruiting companies are Google, JP Morgan, Deloitte, Microsoft, Apple, etc. Top roles offered are software developer, intern, or analyst.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Thapar is absolutely beautiful. The entire campus has Wi-Fi. There are good and fully furnished labs and classrooms. Hostels are amazing. They are spacious, clean, and properly furnished. The quality of the food is really nice. The staff is very helpful. Hostels have their own gym and laundry services.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and ready to help. They aim to provide a good education to students. The course curriculum is relevant and up to date. Semester exams are not that difficult. If a student focuses in class and works hard individually, good grades can be easily scored.
Other: I chose this course because it has aspects of both computer science and hardware.

Great college by infrastructure, placements and college life and the faculty.
Placements: Numerous companies come to our college for different roles, both teaching and non-teaching. They offer a range of salaries and benefits. The highest salary offered was around 36 lakhs per annum. Companies also come for internships as well as full-time opportunities. The minimum stipend for internships is 12,000 per month, and the maximum is 1,00,000 per month. Almost every company that you've ever heard of comes for placements at our college. To get a placement, we just have to be good at what we do. The first step is usually an online assessment, which is very important because if we clear that, we will be able to sit for the interview, which is the next step.
Infrastructure: This college has one of the best infrastructures and hostels in the country. The food is delicious, and the portions are generous. The Wi-Fi is available everywhere on campus, and the library is well-stocked with an extensive collection of books.
Faculty: The teachers here are very helpful and knowledgeable. They are always willing to help us with whatever we need, and they also motivate us to do our best. The course curriculum is very relevant, and we will definitely need all of these skills in the industry. The exams are averagely difficult, but if we attend all the lectures and study the content provided by the teachers, it should be fine.
Other: I have always liked electronics, so I chose this course. There are many societies on campus that will help you do better and pursue whatever extracurricular activities you want. The annual fest is called SATurnalia, and it is very grand. Many celebrities come to perform.

Disappointed because of the faculty recently. Placements are not good, but infrastructure is good .
Placements: Average placements recently are not nice.
The top recruiters are Apple, Google, Infosys, etc.
60–70% of students were placed.
The total number of students placed this year was 1770; further, 70% of students were placed and the average package was around 5 lakh to 11.09 lakh.
Infrastructure: Hostels are old. Wi-Fi is excellent and the library is amazing; it provides various facilities. There are separate hostels for boys and girls.
The library is centrally air-conditioned and open 24 hours a day. There is Wi-Fi everywhere on campus .
Faculty: Exams are very difficult and the pass percentage is around 35%.
The exams are difficult, with a passing percentage of 35%.
People need to study a lot to pass and appear in exams.
The internship scenario was not good; people have to work really hard for it.

Thapar University life is the best in all forms.
Placements: The placement cell of our college is very hardworking. They call various companies and try to place every student in their respective fields. Many students got placed in various companies like Samsung, BlackRock, FirstCry, Google, Amazon, TCS, etc.
Infrastructure: Living in the hostels of Thapar University feels more like a hotel. We have good furniture and air-conditioned facilities depending upon varying charges.
Faculty: Faculty members are good in this college. They are very helpful and we can contact them at any time of the day not only for academic-related matters but for personal problems as well. They try to give their best in all forms. They also help us with various projects which are out of their fields. Our course focuses on both, CS subjects as well as core electronics subjects such that we have scope in both fields.
Other: A fest is organised every weekend, either it is a society fest or a sports fest. This college also provides scholarships based on CG criteria, based on the 12th percentage or JEE percentage.

Thapar University's comprehensive review.
Placements: Placements are good, averaging more than 13 LPA for the CSE branch. Approximately 80% of students are placed. The highest package for 2024 was 1.22 cr. Top recruiters were Apple, Google, Rubrik, etc. Many students were selected for internships in various companies and MNCs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is top-notch. The facilities are amazing, and well-equipped labs are there. Library is one of the best libraries in the world. Classrooms are equipped with AC and projectors. Hostels are very good, and all hostels are equipped with ACs.
Faculty: The faculty members are decent enough. Teachers are very helpful and teach relevant stuff. They are highly qualified and hold PhDs in their fields. Semester exams are not very difficult here. This college follows relative grading. Overall, the system is very good.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in a college with good placements and infrastructure.

Thapar Institute has top-notch infrastructure with great facilities.
Placements: I'm a second-year student of TIET pursuing my B.Tech in computer engineering. Placement for computer branches is decent; some companies offer good placements, but due to the large number of students in this branch, the CGPA cutoff is very high. Companies like JP Morgan are among the top recruiters. The average package is around 10 lakhs for this course; the highest can vary year upon year. The lowest package is 3-4 lakhs.
Infrastructure: The campus provides high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity throughout. Labs in all departments are highly equipped. Computer labs have the latest software and hardware to support practical learning experiences. Classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aids like projectors and mics, etc. TIET's Nava Nalanda Library is a treasure trove of academic resources. You can find all the necessary books in this 4-floor library. It's a great place to study, research, have group discussions, and do presentations. Hostels are very clean, and rooms are spacious. The mess provides good quality food. Also, the evening and night canteens offer a variety of options. Medical facilities are good; ambulances are available on time, and the dispensary is open 24/7. There is a sports complex on campus that includes an indoor badminton court and all the necessary facilities to promote physical activity and teamwork.
Faculty: Some faculty members are really nice and helpful, while others you may not find as helpful. Most of the faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Yes, the course is somewhat relevant. Semester exams are quite challenging for some subjects as you are studying them for the first time. Pass percentage varies based on the course and the difficulty level of the exam.
