September 18, 2020: During the difficult times of the global pandemic situation, the admission 2020 across the courses and institutes throughout the country have been impacted. The institutes are finding it difficult to deliver the same experience as that of physical counselling session where students and their parents visit campus to explore infrastructure, interact with the faculty members, enquire about the courses, curriculum, placements, etc. To overcome this challenge, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is holding the first of its kind ‘Open Day’ on September 21 between 10 am to 5 pm.
The aspirants will be offered the opportunity to virtually visit the campus and explore key features of the infrastructure of Thapar University, engage with senior faculty members and gain career advancement insights from a range of well known Thapar graduates. Students will communicate digitally with placements and industry connect department to understand what kind of skill sets the corporate world is looking for these days.

Placements: The computer engineering department has good placements. The highest salary package offered is 55 LPA. The average salary package offered is 12 LPA. About 50-60% of students get placed in good companies. Some even go for masters abroad. Top recruiting companies are Google, JP Morgan, Deloitte, Microsoft, Apple, etc. Top roles offered are software developer, intern, or analyst.
Placements: Numerous companies come to our college for different roles, both teaching and non-teaching. They offer a range of salaries and benefits. The highest salary offered was around 36 lakhs per annum. Companies also come for internships as well as full-time opportunities. The minimum stipend for internships is 12,000 per month, and the maximum is 1,00,000 per month. Almost every company that you've ever heard of comes for placements at our college. Placements: Average placements recently are not nice. The top recruiters are Apple, Google, Infosys, etc. 60–70% of students were placed. The total number of students placed this year was 1770; further, 70% of students were placed and the average package was around 5 lakh to 11.09 lakh.
Placements: The placement cell of our college is very hardworking. They call various companies and try to place every student in their respective fields. Many students got placed in various companies like Samsung, BlackRock, FirstCry, Google, Amazon, TCS, etc.
Placements: Placements are good, averaging more than 13 LPA for the CSE branch. Approximately 80% of students are placed. The highest package for 2024 was 1.22 cr. Top recruiters were Apple, Google, Rubrik, etc. Many students were selected for internships in various companies and MNCs.
Placements: I'm a second-year student of TIET pursuing my B.Tech in computer engineering. Placement for computer branches is decent; some companies offer good placements, but due to the large number of students in this branch, the CGPA cutoff is very high. Companies like JP Morgan are among the top recruiters. The average package is around 10 lakhs for this course; the highest can vary year upon year. The lowest package is 3-4 lakhs.
