A good university for everything .
Placements: Almost everyone gets placed here. Very high-paying companies visit the university for placements. The stipends for interns are also good. Every year, many startups also visit for placements, which means more opportunities.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the university is very good, and everything here is the best and up-to-date. Wi-Fi is present in most corners of the university. Almost every sport is played here, and coaches are available. Many sports events happen.
Faculty: The teachers are good, helpful, and very intelligent. The course covers everything to make a student industry-ready. There are many exams every semester, including quizzes, lab evaluations, mid-semester, and end-semester exams.

B.E. in Computer Engineering - Batch of 2026

Great infrastructure and college life. Good placements in 2024. Faculty is good and helpful.
Placements: This year, for final year students, around a hundred companies have already visited the campus and around 80 percent of the students have been placed. The highest package was around 55 Lacs per annum and the lowest being around 5 Lacs per annum. The average package is around 10 Lacs per annum. Top recruiters are JPMC and Barclays among many others. Around 20 percent of the students got internships, and the companies were JPMC, Barclays, Salesforce, Sprinkle, American Express, and many others. The roles offered were Software Developer and Data Analyst.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good and very modern. The buildings are very well built with facilities such as numerous labs with computers with required specifications as per the course, excellent Wi-Fi, air-conditioned classrooms, and a world-class library. The hostels are also very modern with air conditioning and private catering along with a dispensary for medical purposes. Sports facilities are also good with a football field, track, cricket pitches, lawn tennis, badminton, and many more.
Faculty: The faculty in Thapar University is highly qualified, many of them being IITians. The faculty is very helpful and knowledgeable. Teaching quality may differ from teacher to teacher, but they have vast knowledge about the courses they teach. The course has majorly everything that can make a student industry-ready. The semester exams are quite manageable if prepared on a regular basis. 95 percent of the students pass.
Other: My course is Computer Engineering, and I chose this course as it is the best course the college offers, and it meets the requirements that are needed for securing a technical job. The improvements that can be made in the course are to include more projects to give the students more time to explore themselves. There are many major fests conducted on campus, the biggest of them being the fest named Saturnalia that takes place in November. Thapar also offers scholarships on a merit basis.

Disappointed because of the faculty recently. Placements are not good, but infrastructure is good .
Placements: Average placements recently are not nice. The top recruiters are Apple, Google, Infosys, etc. 60–70% of students were placed. The total number of students placed this year was 1770; further, 70% of students were placed and the average package was around 5 lakh to 11.09 lakh.
Infrastructure: Hostels are old. Wi-Fi is excellent and the library is amazing; it provides various facilities. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The library is centrally air-conditioned and open 24 hours a day. There is Wi-Fi everywhere on campus .
Faculty: Exams are very difficult and the pass percentage is around 35%. The exams are difficult, with a passing percentage of 35%. People need to study a lot to pass and appear in exams. The internship scenario was not good; people have to work really hard for it.

B.E. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2023

Chemical engineering at Thapar University was a wholesome experience.
Placements: Almost every student of my batch was placed with the highest package of 19 LPA in non-core at JP Morgan, and in core it was 18 LPA at Trident. The lowest package was 6 LPA, which was offered by L&T. My batch strength was 48, and 44 were placed. The rest didn't apply for placements.
Infrastructure: The hostel was brilliant, and even the mess food was good. The hostel was equipped with gym facilities and a table tennis playing area. It also had a fountain area to spend time with friends gossiping. The mess people were very nice and also ready to help with any issue the student is facing with the food quality.
Faculty: Faculty was very nice and helpful and was always available to address any issues the students were facing. Curriculum was good and not very hectic. But you'll have different assignments—practical and sessional—going throughout the semester. Overall, the experience is very good.
Other: You'll find all kinds of people there, and you'll get a chance to be with amazing people. There are different societies that you can be a part of and have an exciting time in. There are always fests and events being conducted throughout the year.

One of the best private colleges in India and really worth it .
Placements: This year 5 students from our college got placed in Microsoft, and the placement percentage is near about 85, which is a good number, but still many students, especially of the branches like mechanical or chemical and mechatronics, need to struggle more for placement, and I have no idea why.
Infrastructure: Hostels are really well built, and the campus has amazing architecture. But the infrastructure is divided branch-wise, and some branches have really well managed classes and labs, while others have very old classrooms without ACs. Overall, the infrastructure and campus are very vibrant and positive.
Faculty: The faculty is not up to the mark, but the course curriculum is very relevant. Semester exams are not too difficult but are very unpredictable and tricky. Thapar needs to focus on better faculty because, at the end of the day, students have to study from YouTube or other sources, and classes are not helpful.
Other: Overall, there are many extracurricular activities and events keeping students engaged and happy.

Thapar Institute has top-notch infrastructure with great facilities.
Placements: I'm a second-year student of TIET pursuing my B.Tech in computer engineering. Placement for computer branches is decent; some companies offer good placements, but due to the large number of students in this branch, the CGPA cutoff is very high. Companies like JP Morgan are among the top recruiters. The average package is around 10 lakhs for this course; the highest can vary year upon year. The lowest package is 3-4 lakhs.
Infrastructure: The campus provides high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity throughout. Labs in all departments are highly equipped. Computer labs have the latest software and hardware to support practical learning experiences. Classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aids like projectors and mics, etc. TIET's Nava Nalanda Library is a treasure trove of academic resources. You can find all the necessary books in this 4-floor library. It's a great place to study, research, have group discussions, and do presentations. Hostels are very clean, and rooms are spacious. The mess provides good quality food. Also, the evening and night canteens offer a variety of options. Medical facilities are good; ambulances are available on time, and the dispensary is open 24/7. There is a sports complex on campus that includes an indoor badminton court and all the necessary facilities to promote physical activity and teamwork.
Faculty: Some faculty members are really nice and helpful, while others you may not find as helpful. Most of the faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Yes, the course is somewhat relevant. Semester exams are quite challenging for some subjects as you are studying them for the first time. Pass percentage varies based on the course and the difficulty level of the exam.
